Lake Presidential Golf Club

The course is pretty decent. Layout is nice, fairways and tees are in good shape. Greens roll nicely but are slow (and no one fixes ball marks - not the course’s fault).

However, it was the most excruciatingly slow round with the highest level of apathy for pace of play by staff I’ve ever witnessed.

After a THREE HOUR front nine, we waited in 10 tee and there were five groups (including ours) on the hole. We mentioned to pro shop while we waited and they gave a nonsense answer about an “event” in the morning and shrugged.

The one person that took initiative was the range picker. When I asked if there was a starter we got a shrug that he “doesn’t do much”. So the guy who picks the range ended up going ahead and turns out there was a group on the 12th hole that had been holding up the whole course for hours. He told them to hurry up.

In an insane bout of irony, on the 11th hole we started getting threatening messages on the GPS that we were behind pace and the Marshall was going to make us skip a hole lol - gaslighting in purest form.

Don’t play this course until they do something about pace of play.

This is a beautiful course that I would recommend playing. Most of the staff were really friendly but a few were really gruff and unpleasant. That wasn’t very cool. I don’t expect people to always have a smile on their face but the basics of politeness would have been nice. Also, the temps were close to 100 degrees and no one bothered to say a large number of holes were cart path only. That was really frustrating. We had older players and maybe we would have downgraded to 9 vs 18 holes if we had known. The food selection was pretty slim also. Definitely expected more. But otherwise it was a good time.

Scenic, fantastic condition and great layout. Good value!

And not a single drop of water available on the course. Played 7.5 holes and thank goodness it was a hot deal and I did not pay full price. Good luck in the future will not be coming back. Be better.

Course in great shape but we needed to get raincheck because pace of play was 3 hour nine

Way too slow and course conditions aren't that great for what you're charging.

I played as a single and joined a Marine that plays their often, this was my second time and it had been a year since my first time. We had the course to ourselves, as it was a sat pm and hot as can be. We both shot well, he game me valuable topography insights and I stayed under 80 from the white tees. Had a few birdies as the greens rolled very nicely. Great condition, enjoyed it.

Worst management in area. Be prepared for 5.5 hour pace of play. Management all about $$$ more people playing the more money. Horrible!!!!! Course is great condition but management and pace of play makes it unplayable. Not coming back. We were second TT. Started 15 minutes late, and by the time we got to 10. They had started people on back nine to get more players. I confronted management and they didn’t say anything besides. Your on pace!!! 2.5 front 9 wtf

Booked a 6:27am tee time. Expecting pace of play to be quick. NOPE. Finished 9 to find they had been starting groups off of 10 in front of the first 3 groups of the day, backing up the course even more. 32 minute wait between finishing 9 and teeing off on 10. Clubhouse said “it wasn’t an issue”. Additionally, when paying for my round the manager took a call from his boss and said “we will be printing money today”. It’s poor management that has always plagued this course. The course itself is in great shape. It’s a shame they treat their customers with such little respect. All about the dollar. Never again.

Nice track very challenging course, however greens were slow, smooth but slow. Also need marshall to move slow players, teed off before 6:30 still took over 4.5 hours, lot of waiting on tee box.

Great course but always wet no matter time of year

I played this course many times years ago and stopped playing it because the conditions were so poor. Decided to try again last weekend and was reluctant due to the reviews.

I’m conflicted on this review because the course is in decent condition and my experience unlike others is that the pro shop staff is very friendly. The grass range is good.

The problem I have is:

Paying extra for range balls

No water on the course so I guess you’re left to buy from cart that we saw once.

Non-existent ranger (it was a painfully slow round - 3 hours for nine holes. Quicker on the back but I think people just sped up to get it over with). On that note, we started getting notifications on the cart that we were slow, on and on when we waited almost all day for the group in front. We then get to hole 13 a see a ranger for the first time. I guess he just sat on that hole all day?? And then he was pushy.

They really need to take every opportunity to tell people at check in and the starter to tell people to fix ball marks. And invest in handing out divot tools. No doubt it will help with repairs and clearly will help green condition.

Last, on the pace of play. It took 5.5 hours with a 9:00 am tee time. Unacceptable. Perhaps some was slow due to it being Father’s Day. I’ll give them that. They really need to have the starter nicely explain which tees someone should play. There were people playing blue that had no business playing those tees (the course is not easy - unless you can hit it long AND STRAIGHT do not play blue tees) Which leads me to my last point. They should combine the white/blue on the first tee. It’s a drive that requires length and accuracy. Just get play started with an easier first shot. Anyway, no one probably reads this. I’m not sure I’ll play again unless I’m desperate for a tee time. Too slow and expensive for what you actually get.

Be prepared for a round of more than five hours. Numerous holes where there were three groups waiting at the tee.

Not one time did we see a Marshall trying to speed things up.

It doesn’t help there are not enough carts.

5.5 hours to play 18 holes. Unacceptable. No ranger pushing anyone. No discussion of pace of play at tee.

Had a mid morning tee time that cost a little over 100 bucks. Teed off 30 min late, very backed up on the first tee. 5.5 hours later finished up on 18, wish I was exaggerating.

It’s a nice course, but pricey and very very slow. No sign of a Marshall or anyone enforcing pace of play. Long day.

Extremely disappointing. This course has played 5.5-6 hours every time we’ve been there. Asked for a refund after playing 9 holes in 4 hours. No provision. Horrible management
