Lake Presidential Golf Club

Tee boxes were a mess and this is not the first time. Fairways were over-watered to compensate for lack of rainfall but still had bald patches. Greens were the best part of the round. Because they are one of the few games in town for PG County public golf access they feel justified charging the current rates, but not worth it.

Pace of play. Woof. 5.5 hour round. Guys in front of us played a 3h front 9 and then quit. Then we caught a foursome and played a 2.5h back nine. Love the course layout. It’s very challenging and varied. But I will only torture myself to play here once per year until they put a ranger out move people along.

I went into the clubhouse to complain to the managers about the slow play about the people, dropping three balls in front of us, and holding up the golf course no Rangers out there on the course at all all in the clubhouse sitting around, I went in to complaint. the managing inside of the clubhouse ain’t doing nothing. Lake presidential used to be one of the best course in the area now course is the last in the area. management really bad. I would never recommend this course to anybody because of the sorry management they had on staff today and the people that live there don’t deserve the management that’s in their clubhouse. fired the head manager.

Great course and staff, but you spend way too much time fixing other peoples divots around the greens just to putt. Not a course problem, I realize, but sadly, the majority of the golfers playing there are the laziest golfers I've seen in all my years of playing.

Had a 10 tee time on Labor Day and was told in the pro shop the box was 10 minutes behind, ended up teeing off at 10:40, 40 minutes late, round took about 5 and a half hours with waiting on almost every hole. Great layout and friendly staff but poor management is turning a once great course into more of a hassle then it’s worth. Not saying don’t go but def look around at the other options in the area before you lock a time in.

Course is nice, but they did not offer real food that day.

Great course, in good shape (given the lack of rain and heat wave we recently had). The only down side was the carts locking up when you went into a restricted area. Of course that applies to par 3s but there were lots of places that you would assume were okay to drive. They should have had directional signs with the cart locking up only for those that ignored the signs. It was quite annoying to say the least.

For a course to be this nice and have a staff that doesn’t care or know the rules of golf is absolutely unacceptable. For 14 holes I played in a 3-some in which we played patiently behind a 2-some that took a minimum of 3 shots off every tee and even more from the fairway. However, we didn’t say anything to them neither did we call the pro-shop b/c according to our GPS provided inside the cart we were on -pace …OK so be it. However, after not taking a 2nd Tee shot all day, my playing partner hit a duck shot on 14 with the Marshal watching. The Marshal comes up after we’ve been delayed all day and says “It’s not course etiquette to take a 2nd shot when ppl are waiting.” 1. The 1 player behind us 3 was already aware of the newbie’s in front of us and didn’t wanna go ahead of us although we offered 2 times as he was a newbie as well and could see we were better players. 2. He wasnt even on the green behind us. 3. The rules of golf including golf etiquette has nothing to do with how you feel. Stick to the rules Mr. Marshal who was missing in action for 3hrs. Your best course of action when ducking a shot into the bushy water 20yards in front of you is to take a 2nd shot NOT to drop a ball in front of the bushy lake 20 yards in front simple to make it harder to get over the water. It’s simply a lack of understanding of the rules and the situation. The Marshal’s best course of action was to simply keep moving unless someone behind him complained or we were off pace of play which neither was the case as we were 15mins ahead of pace according to the carts GPS. I got into a back and forth with the Marshal until he kinda realized he was wrong but still wouldn’t concede. A terrible encounter that was completely unnecessary. We both mentioned the encounter to the Pro Shop team but the simply seemed disinterested. Please find better ppl who understand the rules of golf and can thoroughly analyze the situation in real time instead of jumping to conclusions b/c someone took a 2nd tee shot that landed in the middle of the fairway.
