Mission Royale Golf Club

The course was beautiful, up until the greens. Bumpy off colored grass. Bunches of clover or something on each and every green that kept the ball from rolling true. Aside from the greens that left a lot to be desired, I really liked this course. Interesting layout that takes you on a couple bends, some long and some short holes. Food was good in the bar afterward. Just fixing those greens would make this course 4 star easy.

most of the sand bunkers ned lots of work. Rough is patchy and some areas need to be mowed.

The only real criticism I have is a few of the greens have a couple different types of grass. The normal grass and some sort of weed. They try to keep it cut evenly but the weed grows a little faster and a putt will bounce. Overall greens were good with a lot of undulation. Rough could be grown in a little more.

We've golfed here a few times within the past couple of weeks and every round has been painfully slow. They don't have a marshall and when we complained to the pro shop between the 9th & 10th hole, all we were told is "sorry it's been busy". Yeah, well maybe they are putting the tee times too close together. When you have anywhere from 3 to 5 groups on the first par 3 (hole 3) and then again on hole 6 and then again on hole 16 something is wrong. Today we teed off at 1:36 and finished at 6:30. Almost 5 hours which is ridiculous. It's a good way to lose golfers from coming back if this consistently happens every day. I know we won't be coming back because it seems that it doesn't matter whether it's a weekday or weekend, count on a 5 hours (at least) round.

Greens very bumpy. Sand traps atrocious..Needs lots of work.

One of the nicest courses for the price and very close to Casa Grande. Decent practice facilities, very nice staff, excellent food. You'd do best to play with a local/resident if possible. The greens are fast with lots of break. Some approaches are tricky. It was tough to know what to play, where to land from some tee boxes. All that leads to slow play unless you're behind locals who can guide you. We hope to return now that the course schooled has us but good!
