About
Located just southeast of Phoenix in the town of Florence, Poston Butte Golf Club offers some of the most affordable golf in the area. The course has desert attributes but the best part about its design is that it is more forgiving than some of the overgrown desert courses found in north Scottsdale. The golf course features 49 sand traps strategically placed around the landing zones and greensides and water comes into play on two holes. It is generally a player-friendly layout though with wide fairways and ample room off the tees. The par-3 17th is the signature hole, which is known for its challenging island green. Poston Butte also offers a double-ended, targeted grass range and a short game area.

Golfer Reviews
Worth the drive!
The course is in great condition and a pleasure to play, but it is a lot more difficult than it looks. It’s long and all the greens are subtly elevated making it important to “think your way” through the round. Book it and enjoy!
Highly recommended
My third time playing here, several in our group was their first time. Everyone enjoyed it. Very friendly and helpful staff. Course was in very good condition, only minimal dead or patchy areas on the fairways, with a true second cut rough. Greens were in very good condition, balls were rolling true, no jumps or bad areas were noted. The course was moderately booked so pace of play was excellent, we played in a little over 3 1/2 hours. The layout was not overly difficult, but challenging enough to enjoy it. Our group played the 6066 yard combo tees and the slope was 117, just right for our skill level.
Will definitely come back and play again.
Great course value
This is a quality course with quality conditions. As long as they don't make a major increase on the rates, I highly recommend.
Amazing condition
Poston Butte is in amazing condition for this time of the summer. Fairways are in great shape and greens were smooth and rolling pretty fast. Not a patch of dead grass out there that I saw. Bunkers are pretty firm but still playable. Trust me I found my fair share. Highly recommend. I’ll definitely be going back soon
Picture is 156 yard fairway bunker shot to 9 feet. Best shot of the day from one of those pesky bunkers.
Always a good pick
Course is in pretty good shape for time of year greens are a little furry but rolling pretty good overall good experience
Love this Place
The course, the people everything about this place is amazing. I just wish I could play here more often but the summer is almost over so this will be out of my range, but I so love this place, thank you for a great round, hope to see you again before the end of summer.
Great course
Lots of distance and forgiveness, with just the right amount of challenge, great chip and putting area, great warm up included with round
Solid track
Course was in great condition but were seeded so greens were bumpy and slow. Still tons of fun. Love the course.
Disappointed
No mention was made that the greens were recently and heavily aerated, so nearly unputtable. The front nine fairways are in terrible condition.
Maybe next time
Can't really make a fair judgement because of recent aerification an heavy rain, top quality property, well-managed and kept.
Greens were aerated
The course should publicize the fact that the greens were aerated recently. Putting was almost impossible. Value for play was very limited.
Nice course
The course was very wet due to the monsoons and was surprised it wasn’t cart path only. The greens had been punched recently so the conditions of the greens were slow. We played the round in 4 hours and that’s not bad but it should have been faster. Had a group of 4 on the front side who were very slow. The back 9 had twosomes who were also slow and of course wouldn’t let us play through. We still had a great time and I would recommend this course. I don’t know why courses refuse to post when they punch the course.
