Robson ranch
The course was in great shape especially the green's.
Great shape
Course is in fantastic shape. They did a great job growing the new greens in. Layout is very player friendly with not a lot of trouble off the tee or around the greens. My two complaints are that we only got to play 17 holes cause 1 home was closed and no workers in sight. The other complaint, pace of play was 4.5 and that was skipping a hole. I know it only takes one group to screw up pace of play but it was brutal.

Waste of money
We checked in only to find out that we would be playing temporary greens. When making the reservation, there was a course alert tab that I tried to open without success. I scrolled through to the bottom and did not find anything to alert us to temporary greens. Plus, greens fees of more than $50 in the middle of AZ summer would not lead you to believe that the course was going to be miserable. And, it was. Temporary greens suck. We decided to quit after 12 holes. Miserable. Only positive of visit was the restaurant’s staff and food. My friend and I each drove 1.5 hours to play. He from Tucson and I from Phoenix. Worst golf experience!!
Appreciate Robson’s ‘canned response’. However, as I read the comments of others, I realized a bigger issue is golfnow. I believe the phrase is “scalping”! Charging more than double that the course charges ($50+ vs $20). BS! Adding fees on top of that? Well…that’s TOTAL BS!!!

Temporary greens
Golf now tee time rates at this course are $ 65 and the hot deal was $ 40.99. After paying I find out there are temporary greens and the course was only charging $ 20. I was told golf now was notified on more than one occasion of this problem.

Shame on me for not seeing the the notice that the course was under renovation. Shame on Golf Now for not making that fact more obvious. Shame on Robson Ranch for telling golfers that their temporary score card had accurate distances because they weren’t. Also the entire 18th hole was closed. The pro shops only comment was, “why did I think the golf was so cheap”? The fact of the matter is that golf is cheap in the hot summer months and it is not uncommon to find 18 holes of golf for under $20. The other fact is that this course is a 45 minute drive from my house. So at $5.00+ per gallon of gas to play 17 holes on a joke golf course was a waste of money and my time. So fellow golfers, save your money and your sanity and stay away.

Summer time playing
Course was in good condition considering they are redoing some of the greens. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Boring Layout, Failed to Say They Were Burning Out the Greens
The course was staffed with a friendly complement of employees, but that was about the only thing that exceeded 3 stars. The course was a very flat, boring layout...hard to differentiate one hole from another. The fairways were okay, obviously transitioning with the season. However, the greens were completely burnt out. The website said they would start course and greens maintenance in May (played on April 28), but they were already burning out the greens. False advertising.
Won't go back and wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Nice Round
Ed Robson always has well maintained courses with a friendly knowledgeable staff and fair pricing. Play can be slow at times but expected in a 55+ community.

Straight forward golf
Good golf. Flat course. It was very windy on the day we played which did add to the challenge.

Marshalls needed
While we ended up finishing in reasonable time the 3 some in front of us were quite slow playing tees they shouldn't have. Ranger was around but obviously said nothing to them even though there was an open hole in front of them.
