About
The course at Soldiers Creek Golf Club was designed by Scott Clark, a former Golf Course Superintendent at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear Alabama and the current Superintendent at The Peninsula Golf Club in Gulf Shores Alabama. While this is Scott's first attempt in playing the role of a course architect, it also reveals his depth of experience in the golf course industry. The design goals of building a course that would be enjoyable for high handicappers as well as low handicappers was met in this design.
The course features wide player-friendly fairways. Also, water comes into play on only two holes which makes navigating this course easier for high handicappers. A large natural turf driving range and 10,000 square foot practice green is available as a warm-up or practice area.
Soldiers Creek Golf Club is owned by the Norman Woerner family. Norman is a member of the Woerner Turf family of sod producers. Woerner Turf is a world-wide leader in turf production. The company provides turf for many golf courses ranging from Augusta National to new courses in Hong Kong. They also supply the turf for the NFL Super Bowl and the NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii.
Southern Turf Nurseries provided the Tif Eagle for Soldiers Creek Golf Club. This turf grass is considered by many to be the best-of-the-best turf for southern golf course greens. The fairways and roughs are Tif 419, a dense-growing emerald-colored grass that's perfect for plush fairways.The greens feature Tif Eagle, the newest and best-of-the-best southern turf grass for golf course greens. An increasingly popular choice for new golf courses and redesigns, this turf permits a closer cut, thus allowing for smoother, faster greens.
Located only several miles from Alabama's sun-kissed Gulf Coast, this new 18 hole championship course is part of the Woerner Preserve Resort. Our friendly staff welcomes you to play the newest course on the Gulf Coast. Yes, we are now open. Come spend some time with family or friends. DIRECTIONS: From I-10, take exit 44 (Gulf Shores Pkwy/Hwy 59 South). Travel south on Hwy 59 for approx. 18 miles. Turn left onto Hwy 98 (at light in Foley). Travel approx. 10 miles to Co. Rd 95. Turn right and go 1 ½ mile. Course is on the left.

Soldier's Creek Golf
Track was very nice. Not that long or "tricked up" from white tees.
Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us.
Will definitely return.
Beautiful day after rain
This course is very nice and challenging. Greens need work, but are improving. Staff always very friendly and pace of play good.
So Much Potential
I love the layout of this course. You are out in the woods. Clubhouse is very friendly if a little understaffed.
Greens were in rough shape. Maybe its the time of year. If it were better maintained it would be 5 stars.
Greens just not there yet.
Course is great everywhere except the greens which are in very poor condition...probably waiting for the Bermuda to come back.
Good challenging course
I enjoyed playing Soldiers Creek. The course layout was challenging playing among y’all mature trees. Relatively flat fairways. Tee boxes were a bit scarce on grass. Course maintenance should move tee markers more frequently to allow for player to stand on grass instead of dirt. Greens and fairways were average. Golf Now reservation said it included range balls but pro shop did not honor. Overall a bit pricey for the course conditions.
It’s like you’re family!
We really enjoyed this course today. The first couple greens they’re trying to kill some crabgrass but everything else was great. When we arrived they were literally like family. They said to call them if we needed drinks and they would bring them out. Really enjoyed the round and many of the holes were very cool I. Terms of layout.
Good and challenging course
Nice place that’s not overly ritzy. Just fun and well kept. Challenging course aaStaff was very friendly.
Great layout in a natural setting
The proshop lady was awesome. Really laid it out simple and was customer oriented. The course is coming into shape, the tee boxes and fairways were primarily in great condition, some greens were still spotty on the edges. Great for high handicap players, there are some opportunities for birdies and eagles if you play it right. Would play again.
Great Day of Golf
I really like this course, it winds through the woods. Holes are interesting. The greens are just coming out of winter and were bumpy, but I think they will be really nice in a month.
Interesting Course
I found the course challenging and interesting. The spring grass is coming up nicely and should be in great shape in a couple of weeks. Lots of green side bunkers and a few hidden water holes. I will be playing it again soon.
Fun and Rewarding
This course makes you feel comfortable. The layout is challenging without being oppressive. Pars are out there, Pay attention to the elevated greens
Course was in pretty good shape. Front nine better condition than the back
