Mansfield National Golf Club
About
Mansfield National Golf Club's tees range from 5,263 to 6,850 yards and the course plays to a par 72. The large, undulating greens make for inviting targets. The fairways are lined by every type of tree imaginable, with bunkers looming to suck in tee shots. Scores can add up on holes 11 and 16, with the lake coming into play, but water comes into play on only four holes total. The best hole is no. 5, considered one of the toughest par 3s in north Texas. It plays a very 3-wood-like 233 yards into a tough green that's hard to hold with the wind at your back. Located just south of Arlington Mansfield National also offers FootGolf, a combination of soccer and golf.

Course maintenance
played this course 4 months ago and the tee boxes were just a disaster and it was simple maintenance. there shouldn't be a 100 broken tees and 75 divots on the par 3's on the boxes. that means you haven't had anyone in a week or so cleaning, checking and moving the tee markers on the tee boxes. just plain lazy or understaffed if you ask me. the pace of play was slow and no one on the course to push along. someone had to call the pro shop in order to get them to come out and push them along. there were a bunch of two-somes and a 5-some and so the management there clearly isn't paying attention. you send out 3 2-somes in a row at 9am on a saturday and a 5-some in front of that? your pace of pya will be all jacked up. sure miss for 65 bucks.
Crab Grass And Dirt
If you like dirt tee boxes - hairy greens - 8 hour pace of play - beautiful weeds lining every inch of the fairway - hard pan on top of hard pan - then this course is for you. I paid the same amount I would for let’s say a grapevine and was BLOWN away on how terrible the conditions were. Now in fairness the greens were decent - they just clearly forgot how to use the mower. Lower the price - get a Marshall - buy some chemicals - and give a hoot about the golfer experience.
Not what it used to be
Have played this course for many years and it’s just not what it used to be! Tee boxes are bare, greens are rough and bumpy. The pace of play was extremely slow and no Marshall to help speed things up!
Front 9 in bad shape
I have played this course a few times now and it’s usually in great condition. That was not the case tee boxes on a few holes were pretty much just dirt tons of bad spots in the fairways. It’s usually an amazing course. Do your self a favor and wait a few weeks for them to get it figured out
Same ole National.
You have wonder…..when will they start putting some money back into this course? Tee boxes are horrible, most of the bunkers are unplayable, a lot of the cart paths need replaced. When you pay a premium price to play you would think that they would try to improve the course or at least keep it playable.
I’ve played here off and on for the last 3 years. Nothing has changed. The course is always full. They can’t be hurting for money.
I’m done with this place. I’ll drive a little further and play a better kept course.
Course in bad shape
Greens and tee boxes were in really bad shape. Both had large patches of dead areas. Course is poorly marked for distances. Cart path is collapsing in many areas. The worst condition that I have ever seen it. It’s as if they gave up on it.
What happened to this course?
I play this course 2-3 times a year and have for a long time. This was the worst shape I have ever seen it. I tell people the greens are always in good shape and the layout is fair.
This time the greens must have some kind of problem with the grass (in June after tons of rain all May). They had not been mowed in quite some time or they aren’t mowing them to the normal height, several are multicolored and the grass is uneven, and they were much slower than normal.
The other course maintenance was poor as well … the bunkers were not tended to (and it hasn’t rained in a couple of weeks), and the areas in the trees between holes were either not mowed or had been mowed but not trimmed all the way to each tree.
This used to be good value for money and worth the drive but not in it’s current state.
Hot and sticky
Played on a Saturday at 1048am, slow pace of play. The bunkers were a disaster on every hole. The course was wet despite not having any rain for days. Won't play it again.
Had a nice day
The course layout is good need to shape shots on some holes. Fairways were in good condition and around the green there were good lies. The greens were really slow which made it easy to hammer it to the hole, very few pin placements would the ball run too far past the hole when missed. All in all the course was fun. Thanks Anthony, Tom, and James for a great day.
