Golfer Reviews
January golf at its best
Beautiful Friday at Druids Glen. Played in under 3 hours and the greens and traps were in excellent condition. A super deal for $20. Cart path only and fairways were recently punched but overall one of the best golf experiences in the last 6 months.
Awesome course, just soggy
We played after a week of raining so the course was soggy. I was surprised how well kept the greens were. The forecast was for rain so there were not many other ppl out there. Luckily it was only slight! Really fun course and awesome employees.
great course
The course was in great shape, especially the greens. Staff was friendly. The views of Mount Rainier were spectacular!
Druids
Great course, found it challenging and fun. Pace was slow, took more than 5 hours to finish.
Northwest Gem
While conditions of a few courses in the immediate vicinity have suffered lately due to the unusually warm, dry summer, Druids Glen has come through shining. Tees, fairways and greens are all in excellent shape right now, and I'd recommend this over many other area courses.
Friday at Druids
overall good experience. Played 18 with my buddy on Friday. A threesome in front of us would be completely stopped if they were to walk much slower.
The course was in good shape, the greens were super nice and fast.
Great course, slow play
Course was in great shape, but pace of play was horrid and marshals we no help, just gave excuses.
A deal just outside of Seattle!
A superb public course. Challenging, yet forgiving. And with good weather, beautiful to boot! Definitely worth a visit, and don't forget to grab a bite at the 19th! :)
Excellent course, frustrated with Marshall
I always enjoy playing Druid's Glen. It is a great course, and the views of Mt Rainier are amazing. I will continue to play Druid's Glen every chance I can.
My frustration was with the Marshalls who worked last Sunday morning. We had a foursome that teed off at 7:15. The foursome ahead of us was hitting their approaches on #2 when we teed off on #1. We were hitting our tee shots on #2 when the threesome behind us teed off on #1. We had that cushion all day long.
The Marshall stops us on #6 to tell us to speed up play, because the group ahead of us was on #7 green. We told him that they started almost two holes ahead of us, and we were 15 minutes ahead of schedule. He also stopped us on #8, and said the same thing. Again, we told him we were ahead of schedule. He stopped us again on #12, telling us the same thing, that the group ahead of us were on #14. By that time, we are getting ticked.
The threesome behind us never pushed us, and we were still on or ahead of schedule. Our scores ranged from 83-93, so we were not out there just hacking it around.
On #16, we had a different Marshall stop us, and do the same thing, even though we were still on schedule, and we had the same cushion all day.
When we finished #18, I looked at the time...4 hours and 5 minute round. If the Marshalls had not been harassing us all day, we would have played in less than 4 hours.
Beautiful course, no complaints there. The Marshalls made it less enjoyable though. My playing partners complained to the Pro Shop, which they should have.
Bad experience, but I will still go back.
Great views, nice layout, terrific deal
Just the name alone makes you want to play it, and it it were in a little better condition, I certainly would have given it four stars instead of three. With that said, the greens run true and the lies in the fairways are fairly plush (some of the ponds could use some work and there are some bare spots). Still, this is a wonderful Keith Foster design on a great piece of property. Best of all, on a clear day, there are some pretty good views of Mt. Rainier, and not too many golf courses can claim that. Play the right tees and it's a really enjoyable experience with just the right amount of challenge.
Hope you like sand
Tough course with lots of sand and water. If you can hit it straight you will definitely enjoy this course. Price was reasonable. Good pace of play. My only suggestion would be a few water coolers at the tee boxes. I also would not suggest walking this course especially if it is a hot day. Couple of long steep walks between holes.
slow all around
They didn't have carts ready when we check in. It was a 5.5yr round for 18 holes. The beverage cart didn't come around much, and was always low or out of everything. For the money, there are better courses.
Challenging course in good shape
Found this course to be challenging with a slope of 137 from the blue tees. Fairways are generous enough but we'll placed fairway bunkers. Shots hit into it a lot of the greens require a higher type shot to carry water or bunkers. Fairways in great shape greens roll good but could be a little quicker. Wouldn't recommend for a player over a 20 handicap.clubhouse help a little young and thought the overall management of the course should be tightened. Love the tap room and menu! Over all a good experience
