Improving conditions
Course is in better shape than the last time I was there. My biggest issue was my white balls were hard to see with the dead grass from winter. It was a little cold but not too bad. I finshed in under four hours.
appearance of a driving range
Fairways are baked to near dirt, and bunkers are mostly collections of dusty dirt, not sand. However, the greens are pretty good!
Horrible conditions
Greens and fairways were in horrible shape, some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Tee boxes looked like they’d been run over by a bulldozer. Plus, they charged a $32.00 spectator fee for my teenage daughter, which is what I paid for the round of golf. You’d think with that kind of price gouging, they’d have the money to pay an average greens keeper.
5 some in front of our group
Teed off at 11:30 and didn’t finish until 4:30 complete BS!! The starter said the group in front of us was going to split into a 2 some and a 3 some but they played together on the second hole thru 18. The starter said there are 2 marshals on the course and they would not be allowed to play together? I won’t be coming back ever!!
Very Happy
Butterfield has improved greatly since last year! They have put in the time to improve the greens …I would recommend this course from May - November at 5–Stars … The clubhouse food and staff are excellent 👍
Could be better...
There were several people who do not know how to play correctly, and do not know the main rules of the course, they were slowing down the pace of play and jumping the holes forward. Bad work on the part of the marshall.
Bad day on the course
I know the rate of pay is very different between 1,2,3, and 4 person groups. It is very hard to play and keep your mind good when you have to wait at least 5 minutes at every hole and have it take 1.5 hrs for 6 holes. This has been a constant issue here. As it took 5.5 hrs to play a whole 18 holes one weekend.
