Sketchy at Best
The course still is terrible shape. The course still needs a lot of water. Fairways are green in the middle. Outside the middle needs a lot of work. Greens are still deplorable. The course us to have water at every three holes. No more. You may see a cart person once or twice for eighteen. On a hot day make sure you buy enough before you play. Food and beverage is marginal. The course is not well run and conditions are bad.
Greens are in horrific shape and should be avoided at all costs. They need to shut it down for a month or two to get the course back to its former glory. The staff is amazing as always.
Course needs attention and a marshall
I will start with this course use to be the number one course in El Paso. Like I said, use to be. It has been decaying throughout these couple of years. Played last Friday and we started at 1pm and ended at 530pm!! Ridiculously slow play and NO Marshall was available. Greens are terrible. Dried out. Bunkers may as well have gravel has barely no sand. I would take my ball out if in the bunker as you can damage your wedge swinging in there. Not worth it. Fairways hard as a rock. It’s unfortunate the current condition of the course because it has a great layout. Again, this course use to be the best in El Paso. I will probably try playing there again next year to see if the course conditions have improved.
More work on the greens.
Loved the course, but I observed one of the staff watering the greens at the hottest part of the day. Really? Burns the grass. Was he just inventing work? More supervision needed.
Average course
Good course design but greens were rough. Pace of play was slow.
Hot Saturday
Even if the day was very hot..
I enjoy the game and the pace of the game was acceptable...
Desert Course
This is a fun course to play. The overall condition was good! Needs more water! The greens were a bit choppy! We paid a hot deal for $20. That was a perfect price for the conditions! I would recommend that price overall until the course conditions become pristine!
Great course layout
The golf course has an awesome layout.the greens currently and in bad shape. I know they are working on it I cant wait to see the out come.
Needs Help
Ben Hogan once said he could play a course with bad fairways but bad greens are a nonstarter- (Paraphrased). The greens are in terrible shape and needs lots of attention…. Also, the bunkers need more sand… Won’t play the course again until September - needs lots of help
They have lost the course
The course is in bad shape from tee to green. Before the round I asked in the pro shop of the condition and they told me it was in great shape. Just tell the truth, don’t take my $$ and lie to me. The greens are awful almost no grass and dead. Fairways are bare and hard and don’t go in the concrete bunkers. I don’t know if they have water restrictions or if the owners don’t want to put in the $ of effort. This course was once a gem from a great designer and now just a reflection of the city which it’s in, a dump.
So sad
Sad to see a once great course in such bad shape. Hope they bring back to what it was.
Course condition
My group was very disappointed with the condition of the greens and overall with bunkers and fairways. Green were burnt as they put to much salt on them. Fairways were mixed dirt and grass. Bunkers hard as a rock. The price of $50.00 per person was way to much for the condition of the course. Won't play the course agai, until they get their act together.
Very bad shape
The course is in very bad shape, the greens are dry and full of holes, people don’t fix their divots… the course needs a lot of maintenance, I hope some day Butterfield can be what it was
