Colorado National Golf Club

About
The golf course at the Colorado National Golf Club is an 18-hole, public course that is situated just 20 minutes north of Denver. Jay Morrish designed the formerly known as Vista Ridge golf course with a traditional links-style layout. The course covers 7,676 yards of golf from its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. Rolling fairways lined with native grasses and large, undulating greens make the golf course interesting, while beautiful views of snow-topped mountains provide pleasant scenery. The course has many bunkers as well as water hazards. Colorado National Golf Club also features five sets of tee boxes for golfers to work on a number of different handicaps.

This course was awesome for the value and the staff was very helpful since this was the first time we played it. I would definitely play this course upon my return to Colorado.
Deceivingly Tricky
This course has a links feel to it, I don't seem to recall seeing any trees. I didn't get a chance to try the practice facilities, but given that the Colorado University golf team practices here, they must be pretty nice. The golf shop and restaurant looked really high end. The green fee was surpringsly affordable. On to the review... The course was in great condition tee to green. It plays really difficult and long if you can't keep the ball in the fairway. There is a lot of native grass, and it's really difficult to hit off from it, let alone even find your ball in that stuff. The course is pretty especially in the secluded areas that have no housing around it, makes you feel like you're not in the big city in some of the holes. The greens rolled pretty true and fast. If you're used to bermuda it takes a little bit of time to get used to the feel of these greens, but once you do, you really get to enjoy them. The pace of play was decent at 4.5 hours, wish it could have been faster for a weekday afternoon in the summer, but I guess golf is pretty popular in Colorado. I would love to play here again. Visit the @golfyoucanafford Instagram account for more pictures and videos of the course.
Disappointed
Heard a lot about this course and finally had a chance to play. The experience was so bad I left after 9.
For starters the range and practice area is a joke. If 2/3 is dedicated to the CU team and members then just make the whole place private.
The absolute worst is pace of play. 10-12 minute WAIT on each tee. Nobody pushing, or marshalling at all. Asked at the turn and was told.. yeah that’s just Sundays. Inexcusable. The course itself is decent but nothing out of the ordinary. The rough was a joke. Mostly dead grass and rock hard earth. I’ve played many courses with native grass and challenges. This just abused that and made it miserable. Hole number 8 is dangerous and should be modified. Dog leg left and they allowed a restaurant with an outdoor patio to be built about 240 from the mid range tee if you push it a bit right. The patio is literally less than ten yards from the cart path. Had one hit from the ladies tee that bounced in the area just left of the patio and another hit the cart path and bounce right in. Both poor shots but absolutely unacceptable to have that kind of danger even remotely in play. Sad to say I won’t be back. After a 2:45 front nine and the miserable conditions there are a dozen other courses I’d rather play for the same money or less.
Great Coarse
A beautiful layout, the course was n great condition and a very reasonable price for a round of golf
worth the drive
2nd time playing at CN.....friendly employees, course in great condition (whoever set up the pin placements, you made it so difficult on certain holes to even stop the putt withing 3 feet).....lol....another great day. Will be back soon...
Challenging layout
Challenging layout with 5 sets of tees and big 2/3 .tiers greens and great practice facilities.
Can’t beat it.
Had a 5:06 tee time which I assume was one of the first twilight rate times. $55 for this beauty. Incredible conditions, tee boxes for all skill levels, and gorgeous views on just about every hole. Absolute steal for $55. Will definitely be back.
Colorado National
First time playing it. Was a fun and challenging course. Fairways had wide landing areas, rough was challenging but fair in length, greens rolled very true with slope and subtle nuances that keep you on your toes.
This course did not honor their rain check.
This course stole $150 from me. I was visiting from Phoenix, Az and thought this would be a good course to play well I was wrong. I played the course on 7/16/2024 at 11:51 tee time it was my wife, father in-law and myself I paid for all three. We played the front 9 then it started to rain and Lightning. So they give me a rain check for the following day. However my wife and I were headed home to Phoenix so we couldn’t play. we went back to the course the following morning and explain our situation. We gave them our rain check They said they wouldn’t their accountant know to refund $150 to me I shall receive it within 2-3 business days I still have yet receive a refund. I also called multiple times for a follow up/update on the process. I also left a voicemail to the business and I never received a call back. Horrible first time experience with this course I would not recommend. Any recommendations for honest courses in the Denver area who actually treat their customers with respect, who is not affiliated with this company thanks in Advance!
Saturday in July at Colo Nat’l
I’ve played at Colorado national before. I’ve had great experiences. This was a bit disappointing just because the pace of pay was so slow.
