Colorado National Golf Club
About
The golf course at the Colorado National Golf Club is an 18-hole, public course that is situated just 20 minutes north of Denver. Jay Morrish designed the formerly known as Vista Ridge golf course with a traditional links-style layout. The course covers 7,579 yards of golf from its longest tees and plays to a par of 72. Rolling fairways lined with native grasses and large, undulating greens make the golf course interesting, while beautiful views of snow-topped mountains provide pleasant scenery. The course has many bunkers as well as water hazards. Colorado National Golf Club also features five sets of tee boxes for golfers to work on a number of different handicaps.

Golfer Reviews
Poor condition for money; ridiculous pacing
Greens were inconsistent and generally not in as good of condition as to be expected from such a pricey and esteemed course. We were on pace for about 4:20 for the round and were told by the morning marshal that if we didn’t pick it up, they would force us to skip a hole. This was in the middle of a par 5 with nobody on the tee either.
Overall a pretty disappointing experience
Thank you Colorado National
We've been playing this course for a long time since the Vista Ridge days and the neighborhood has changed a lot but the golf remains great. Thanks to the staff and crew for helping to make it a great day!
Not Good
Colo National is a great layout, normally in very good condition. Not so this time. We haven't played there in a couple of months and boy was it in bad shape.
Aeration aside, the tee boxes were torn up, lots of dessicated/torn up areas in the fairways as well. All in all, it just doesn't look like they are watering it.
The good news is we paid a discounted rate, but honestly if the little things don't improve, it won't be worth that. One of the bathrooms was in disrepair, one was closed.
It did not look like a ton of effort was being put in, hope it gets better.
Meanwhile, be ready for every shot that hits the fairway to run through to the rough, lots of bare, hard spots to deal with.
Great track!
Great layout. Greens were terrific! Very difficult but fair. Make sure the play the correct tees. Zero drinkable water on course. Might bring your own.
Golf course was great - Golf Now, not so much
Colorado National was great as always. The course is always in great condition, and a great value even at a higher price than neighboring courses. However, when we arrived, we found out that we actually didn't have a tee time, despite the confirmation from Golf Now. The course managed to accomodate us and squeeze our group in. They were amazing. Pretty embarrassing to have a foursome drive nearly an hour and find out that Golf Now hadn't communicated the reservation to the course. They could have easily denied us as the course was packed.
This course was awesome for the value and the staff was very helpful since this was the first time we played it. I would definitely play this course upon my return to Colorado.
Deceivingly Tricky
This course has a links feel to it, I don't seem to recall seeing any trees. I didn't get a chance to try the practice facilities, but given that the Colorado University golf team practices here, they must be pretty nice. The golf shop and restaurant looked really high end. The green fee was surpringsly affordable. On to the review... The course was in great condition tee to green. It plays really difficult and long if you can't keep the ball in the fairway. There is a lot of native grass, and it's really difficult to hit off from it, let alone even find your ball in that stuff. The course is pretty especially in the secluded areas that have no housing around it, makes you feel like you're not in the big city in some of the holes. The greens rolled pretty true and fast. If you're used to bermuda it takes a little bit of time to get used to the feel of these greens, but once you do, you really get to enjoy them. The pace of play was decent at 4.5 hours, wish it could have been faster for a weekday afternoon in the summer, but I guess golf is pretty popular in Colorado. I would love to play here again.
