Balnagask Golf Course

About
Set in a legendary location with historic views, Balnagask Golf Course is a coastal golf experience that will leave players in awe from both the challenging layout and spectacular landscape. Overlooking the ocean, as well as nearly 20 historical and archaeological sites - including a Robert Stevenson-designed lighthouse that was built in 1833 - Balnagask is truly an Aberdeen and Scotland gem.
Playing to more than 6,000 yards, this par-70, 18-hole course will challenge players with its creative and rolling layout, all the while dazzling with its unique aesthetic qualities. Holes such as the No. 10 - known as "Magazine" will have long hitters extending themselves, as it plays to 485 yards. Nonetheless, accuracy is of the utmost to put up good numbers at this parklands style course that gives a nod to famous links courses.
Apart from the 18-hole course at Balnagask, the course also includes a nine-hole, pitch and putt course that is perfect for beginners or for players looking to get their short game in shape before tackling the 18-hole run.

Wonderful links course
This course was a delightful find on the edge of the Aberdeen harbor with great views and wonderful creative holes. A course you could play over and over and never get tired of. The wind was up and and it was a staunch defender of the links.
Brings a smile to my face
This great fun, open course, but still have to think and place ball for best chance. A couple of non-description holes beside the new harbour, otherwise so well thought out. Course in good condition. Fairways and greens very playable. And for the price for 18 holes, can’t beat it!
Tough & hilly links course
Played here in July. Course fast and dry. Very hilly for a links course. Be aware, only 1 buggy and 1 hand cart maybe available so call ahead to see if one can be found. Particularly important if you’re flying into the area. Lots of blind and uphill holes. We heard afterwards to ‘always use the lighthouse as your aiming point on blind holes’.
Great council course
Great course with stunning views. Can be a bit windy. Very hilly so if your bit older maybe best to avoid.
Great course with challenges
Really enjoyed playing this course. Breaking views of Aberdeen as you play. Some challenging holes and strong winds that you would expect with links golf however the fairways are wide open which makes you feel you’re alway in the hole even if you are out of position. The guy at the starters hut was really friendly and gave me some advice on the course before I went out. Would high recommend and will be coming back again.
