Peterhead Golf Club - The New Course
About
The New Course at Peterhead Golf Club is a nine-hole links course that stretches along the eastern Scottish seaside. Founded in 1841, Peterhead Golf Club is one of the oldest in Scotland. Although the golf course was originally planned as an 18-hole course is 1923, but due to neglect during World War II, only nine holes were completed. The layout is similar to the Old Course at the Club, but with a more manageable length, making the course ideal for beginners and juniors. The sand dunes and wild grasses that are interspersed throughout the course enhance the classic links design.

Friendly
Friendly staff, course is good value for money as still learning. Not good enough to tackle the old course yet.
Lovely little 9 holer
Played on a very windy day recently and really enjoyed the challenge fairway and greens were in lovely condition
Good beginers course
A good 9 hole course, good for a quick hit or for those just starting out, some good par 3's and par 4's, greens were good, fairways excellent
A good taste of a links style course
Picked this course to play on a Saturday morning, as the 18-hole course was booked. Easy to walk, but a bit difficult to follow the course, so pay attention to the group in front of you. Course was firm and the fairways were cut tight, so shots would run in the fairway. Greens were hard and quick, so putting from off the green may be a better strategy than chipping. The whole nine was pretty wide open, with trouble in a few spots but for the most part it was easy to follow and find golf balls, even errant shots unless they fell into the small patches or border runs of deep grass. A nice way to get a taste of links courses before investing bigger money on a full course.
Great Links Course
A great links course for all levels, restricted to playing in winter greens (understandable) some great views the 14 tee on the new course is a belter elevated down into a valley which attracts you to give the ball a right good skelp off the tee, highly recommend
