Duff House Royal Golf Club

About
Famed golf course designers Alister MacKenzie and James Braid are responsible for Duff House Royal Golf Course, a standout Scottish design set in Banff. Playing to more than 6,000 yards from the back tees, Duff House is a perfect example of the quality parklands courses available on a Scotland vacation package.
While not known for elevation changes, MacKenzie's original design sets golfers off on a magical ride of old-school golf, featuring multi-level greens, stately fir and mammoth pine trees, and a parade of challenging holes. The River Deveron comes into play on several holes, not just adding a challenge, but even giving guests views of wild seals catching their lunch.
Somewhat protected by the nearby hills, Duff House Royal tends not to be as windy as other notable Scotland golf courses, and with spectacular, unique views, as well as challenging play designed by the greats of the game, you'll see why Duff House Royal Golf Club has survived more than a century in style.

Good despite recent bad weather
Very pleasant and enjoyable, with welcoming members and staff. Bunkers could have been repaired since the rain some days previous, but no worse than many other courses.
Great to play again
Been a lot of years since last playing the course but always had good memories of it and thoroughly enjoyed the round
Brilliant
Played it for the first time and would definitely be back again. Smooth greens and stunning course. Well recommended
Fantastic course
Immaculate huge double tear greens, firm smooth fairways. Played this course when home for 29 years and still my favorite in the North East. Don’t miss playing it.
flat parkland
Staff very helpful and excellent clubhouse. Course was a flat parkland course with wide fairways and little rough, a few bunkers and 3 holes bordering the river. Playing on frost / winter greens ment that not all the bunkers were effectively in play.
The course is a pleasant scenic course but can't really be said to be challenging. For the middle of winter the fairways were in good condition.
MacKenzie Greens on Moray Coast
A fabulous find on Scotland's Moray Coast, between Fraserburgh and Nairn. This 1928 layout by Alistair Mackenzie feels like the real deal in terms of compelling green contours, including a pair of double-duty greens. make the trek; worth the visit.
Excellent!
Pure, true putting surfaces, great course design and layout. A fantastic course.
Great course
Fantastic course really friendly staff and a cracking bacon and egg roll would definitely go back to play again.
Course needs a good dry out.
Course layout was great you can find your way around very easy.
Fairways are good some are a bit bogged tho again that's where it is and the weather.
The greens at rather good. Even the shared greens where 1/17 6/15 join together are really tricky.
Bunkers were again soaking and hard. One of the bunkers was even under water on 16 with no drop zone available even though there was GUR sign submerged in it.
Weather was dry when we played but I think once this course drys out it would be a great course.
Fantastic course
Played a few times and always one of my favourites. Worth the admission fee for the 16th hole itself. Course in great condition. Could've been doing no with shorter grass on tee boxes
Beautiful location and course
Course was in excellent condition, fairways were lush and greens were large, undulating and running at a good speed. Most fairways are tree lined so accuracy is key. Good variety of holes all in a beautiful setting running along river. £20 a round and able to book online. All staff very friendly and helpful. Clubhouse comfortable and welcoming. Well worth a visit, and return visits.
