La Mirada Golf Club

I’ve heard several negative things about this place but finally decided to try it for myself. All those red flags about this place are very true.

The pace of play is very terrible! We saw a 6 some rolling around together. Several people playing multiple balls. No regulations from the starters

People will hit up on you even though you can’t go anywhere. They’ll hit up on you while you’re on the greens on a short Par 3. They don’t care.

We saw another group of males drive up on our tee box to hit their ball back into their fairway.

Etiquette and professionalism are definitely out the window at this course.

Other than that, the course is not bad. It can be challenging with several dog legs.

Conditions are so/so, expected from a County course.

The pace of playing and grouping at this course was very poor. Tee times were less than 5 mins apart and caused long waits at each hole. First three holes took 1 hour to play.

Management needs to do a better job at managing tee times to allow a decent pace of play.

Course was is good condition, no complaints there.

Fairways are lush

Greens are smooth and fast

Driving range over charges

Spread your tee times out more. Chill out on the fivesomes. Quit being cheap and greedy, hire some Marshalls to keep play at a fair pace.

If you like rounds that last 6-7 hours and have your catalytic converter stolen off your vehicle out of their parking lot during your round, then La Mirada is the course for you. The course and layout itself are not the problem whatsoever, course was in decent shape and always fun to play.

But the overall management of the course is the worst in any SoCal course. 10-15 minute wait minimum on every hole and no marshall attempting to regulate EXTREMELY slow play. On top of that, no cameras in the parking lot to help prevent break-ins and theft is the worst part. When i walked into the clubhouse to explain the situation of someone trying to steal my catalytic converter off my truck, the clubhouse attendant simply stated "yeah that has been known to happen in our lot". Like what?? install security cameras so people can have some sense security and not have to worry about their vehicle being broken into, etc. while playing a round.

If you are looking to play at La Mirada, I would strongly recommend that you save your money or look to play at a different course. Overpriced and potentially lose more money off the course when someone attempts to break into your vehicle or strip it for parts.

Average conditiion fairway, little bit slow green and thick and deep rough you never find your ball ~~ it was rally challenge.

Course is fun ~

Rate of play was ridiculous. Gave up on hole 15 because we were 5 hours in and would have taken about 1.5 to finish minimum.
