Interesting Course
Part of the LA County system La Mirada is an interesting, undulating hilly course. Not quite full length (par 70), it's still challenging and fun. Lots of hills, gullies, mini canyons and hills to mess you up; also the fairways are tightly packed so it's easy to wind up on the wrong hole! Only a couple water hazards; the trees and hills are the biggest obstacles. Only complaint is that the driving range is dirt and when they rake it for balls it turns into a huge dust storm.
What a Course
What can I say I have been playing at LM for at least 10 years and it is one of the most challenging track I have played and then on top of that the greens are always pure all in all a great track and fun!!
I like the layout of this course
Challenging course with few rough spots, rough is not beaten up, I like how you can play the ball off the side of the hills.
Good course layout, poor fairways
Fairways were bare and patchy. Greens were in good shape though. Not bad play for winter golf I guess.
Dry times
The course was very dry and not well-maintained. There was a lot of dry leaves and debris throughout the course. The worst part about the course there was the extreme areas of dryness. There was a lot of dirt on the fairways. And the price of this course does not reflect its value.
Not worth $60
If you’re gonna plat here, book your tee time before noon. And don’t play on the weekends. The backlog of groups waiting for karts caused our 1220 tee time to really start closer to 1250 and we then didn’t get to finish 18. I tried to bring it up with management and see if I could get charged for twilight rates and they said no. It’s worth $30 bc the course has some fun challenges but not worth $60
Too much
The $61 green fee was very over priced for a poorly maintained course. The freeways were terrible. A lot of dirt patches with no grass.
Greens very bumpy.
Sorry for the very negative review but over price.
A fun course to play
Even though it is is a shorter course it has a lot of personality. There are a lot of fun elevation changes. The fairways were okay but looking very brown in spots. The recent heat wave probably has not been kind to it. The greens were bumpy and it looked like they had been punched within the last 3 weeks. All and all it was a great deal for the price. Hopefully next time the greens will be in better shape.
La Mirada GC
Fun , first time at La Mirada GC. Conditions were decent, pace moved fine, tricky course at times.
Not worth your money. Terrible greens, cart up charge and slow
The course is in terrible conditions, delayed and they charge you $15 per person for cart even if you are sharing a cart. Management does a terrible job keeping the pace of play and carts are hardly available so you will always need to wait for carts. Don't waste your money here and go elsewhere that is not jacking up prices and making exceptional surcharges just because of the surge in golf due to COVID.
