Need a course marshall
Pace of play was horrendous. Was waiting about 10-15mins every hole
Cool Spot to Switch it Up
Course layout is pretty unique and greens were decent. Definitely wouldn’t want to walk this one personally. Heavy undulations and elevated greens/tee boxes. No snack bar available for us. Pace of play might be slow depending on the groups you play behind. I’d go again
No Marshall, walking 5-some causing a backup
I knew it would be slow due to the holiday weekend (Father’s Day) but I didn’t think they’d allow a 5-some, let alone a walking one. It was a 5 hour round. And we never saw the Marshall, once. The greens were in great condition, but tough. Very deceptive reads that we’re mostly just dead straight. The fairways were a little dry and hard and there were some pretty big bare areas. Some holes were clearly over-watered as there were big patches of mud under the grass which made for inconsistent play. Overall a fine experience, but won’t go out of my way to play here again.
4 1/2 hour round on a Friday with a 12:20 tee time
Can’t beat it !
Fairways could be in better shape, greens were ok. Front 9 greens were pretty good, but the back were pretty bummed.
Good Course for the price
Fairways can be maintained better. Open course. Definitely a good course for the money.
5 hour round
Fun course, greens were in great shape and rolling fairly fast. But the 5 some in front of us la-gged! We waited on every shot. My 7 year old didn’t play the last 2 holes cause he was over it. And this kid plays 18 holes once a week sometimes twice a week. If you can get out early. Do it. Otherwise I would pass one playing late in the day.
Good round but pace of play was a different story
First 7 holes played on perfect pace and than the wheels fell off with this round turning into a 5+ hour round of golf. The (2) groups in front of us refused to waive up the following groups on the par three's which started a trickle down effect of slowing the game considerably. Additionally both groups were walkers and insisted on playing from the blues when they clearly should have been playing from the whites which increased their time on each hole. Course was in good condition. The front 9 greens were a bit slow because of recent airification but the back 9 was much faster. Overall a good round just wish is was faster paced as we all lost our momentum once it started going slower.
Interesting Course
Part of the LA County system La Mirada is an interesting, undulating hilly course. Not quite full length (par 70), it's still challenging and fun. Lots of hills, gullies, mini canyons and hills to mess you up; also the fairways are tightly packed so it's easy to wind up on the wrong hole! Only a couple water hazards; the trees and hills are the biggest obstacles. Only complaint is that the driving range is dirt and when they rake it for balls it turns into a huge dust storm.
What a Course
What can I say I have been playing at LM for at least 10 years and it is one of the most challenging track I have played and then on top of that the greens are always pure all in all a great track and fun!!
I like the layout of this course
Challenging course with few rough spots, rough is not beaten up, I like how you can play the ball off the side of the hills.
