Pelham Bay at Pelham/Split Rock Golf Course

Have played Pelham Bay Golf Course since the 1980s. The course received a considerable remodeling during the Giuliani Adm. It is a nice place for an average golfer to play. The 9th hole green under the famed tree is a wonderful finish.

My only recommendations are that the 17th and 18th holes could use fairway buckets along the left side of the fairways to breakup the open field like fairways and force play inside away from Shore Road.

Otherwise a conveniently located course from all directions.

Played 7am 9 holes at Pelham, was lovely all around. Mosquitoes still a factor but other than that was a lovely morning.

There are too many mosquitoes. You must prepare a powerful mosquito spray.

I played SpliT Rock with a couple buddies. Bugs swarmed us the entire round. You couldn't move without having hundreds of bugs on you. I love golf and have a very high tolerance for something like this, i thought could play through any conditions, until playing Split Rock. I had to leave in the middle. I warn you, do not play it. The course should close down until they can figure out the problem. I have hundreds (no exaggeration) of bites all over my body, and there's no way to avoid it. Stay away!!

Terrible because of mosquito!!

First of all starter let 5 people sum going out OMG

there was outing and they let people to book a tee time online and got delayed 30min

Very uncontrollable and people seems don’t care poor Management!

It took us 6 hours to get to the 16th hole. Everyone’s pace was fine they just overbooked. This was on a Sunday afternoon and then had the nerve to charge for parking. But they don’t charge on weekdays. Talk about all about the money, let’s charge parking when we overbooked. We ended up not playing the final few holes.

Lots of rangers driving around, but none of them tell the slow groups to pick up the pace

Very nice course. Flat. Good shape. Played early morning so pace was good. Weather was better. All around a very nice day of golf. I certainly will play it again. No food to speak of for early rounds.
