Van Cortlandt Park Golf Course

The Vanny is always a solid round for the price. The staff is always friendly and the guy in the pro shop was a trip. Even the starter and I were discussing my irons. Some tee boxes are a little rough, and they've had some water damage. But always a good day especially when you pass the half way house twice.

Right in the middle of New York City is a championship golf gourse. Challenging and fun. Staff was great.

I was very disappointed with the conditions of course. The grass was too high and we had a hard time finding balls near fairways. Most tees were best up.. the cart paths were horrendous and need work. In comparison to nearby courses I would unfortunately rate it below par. It’s sad because it’s such a beautiful course but for the price I would rather go elsewhere.

Always enjoy a round of golf at Van Cortland and teaming the experience with arrangements serviced through Golf Now only adds to the pleasure.

The course is in particularly good shape given the rain we have been having.

The day was hot 90+ degrees so not many golfers out on the course during the afternoon heat. The course is a tough walk so I took a cart, shot mid 80's

Course was in good shape considering it is August. Tee boxes were also in decent shape. Lazy people sont fix their ball marks on the greens. 2nd group out on a Saturday under 4 hours.

Haven't been there in a few years. It's a bit long for seniors but manageable. It's in magnificent shape. Greens a bit slow but true. Fairways excellent. Stay out of the rough to be effective. Good choice for New York

It is a good course. Hole 2 and 12 are par 5s to challenge the average golfer, some of the par 3s are also tough. The back nine is very interesting, especially the last 4. The kitchen and the snack shop open late, if you have an early tee time, you won't get anything. The restroom in the course is terrible. There is no food cart going around. Bunkers are hard, some tee boxes need upkeep.

I have trolled in the past, but they have made a lot of improvements and the course was great. Ranger was a jerk for no reason, as the group ahead of us had a quick par 3 and he unnecessarily snipped at us to keep up. We were waiting in two holes. Know how to do your job.

Anyway, other than that, great round!

we played Vanny for the first time the course was in Beautiful shape Club pro was pleasant and accommodating, took the time to go over course with us,we were in NY for a VGA event the following day and he told us about the various things the course does for Vets, we played on one of the hottest and humid days of the year walked the course as other have posted there are some holes where the walk to the next hole was quite far and a cart ( based on the heat and humidity) would have been the smart way to go, but we enjoyed the course and its layout

Nice layout, good maintenance, sometimes need join with others because too many golfers here.

Toilet inside golf course is too dirty and smelly.

Let me start by saying that I love Van cortland lay out and history sadly that’s where all the good ends and the bad starts, the staff at the pro shop are rude unfriendly and not professional at all, I walked I didn’t ride but me and my partner were change for the cart after the game was over I came back to get a refund and instead I was charged twice. Unlike any other public course I’m not allow to bring my wife as an spectator and give a bad attitude when ask if she could come. Bad place to play
