Lucky so far
With the exception of the starter who needs a slap for belittling the other guys in my group for playing the back tees, I love this place. Greens in above average shape, as are most tee boxes, sand is in the traps and the pace of play has been consistent.
Fairways are burnt from the lack of rain, but it’s late August and we’ve had a dry summer. People are friendly and for the most part very chill.
The amount of work over the last 15 years is without comparison to the other local dumps.
Maybe a water cooler or two in the middle of each nine would be nice, but you can’t complain when you see what most public course in the area look like.
Very Nice
Excellent warm-up area for putting, chipping, irons.
Quite breezy. Lovely greens. Fairways are baked out. Pace of play good. Nice links feel and not difficult to walk.
Biting flies on the back 9.
Couldn’t get away from them. They would bite just when you are ready to swing. Fairways were a little stressed because of lack of rain. Greens were perfect as always.
Good course
Hopefully Carr can be included with tee time fee. Hope buying snack takes a while, extend play time over 5 hours that is already delayed. On 17, 18th hole I noticed a gentleman was playing topless looking ugly for all of golfers there. Please remind or do something on this kind of behavior. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this course..

hot day
The weather was hot with a breeze, par for a links course., wide open by the bay .I guess too hot for some, we playe a four hr round of good golf with a few hiccups , I had quads.
Meh
Burnt out in some spots but greens were well kept. Pace of play is absolutely dreadful. Not a single ranger to be seen
Slightly dried out but always in good shape
I play this course frequently and it is always in good shape. Has been slightly dried out this summer but was improved this week over last week. Greens are in great shape and are pretty quick. Sometimes the pin placements are overly difficult. Course is open but you can expect plenty of weird lies if you are not in the fairway. Generally play in 4.5 hours which is a lot better than can be said for other NYC courses.
