Best in the Area
Marine Park is in the best shape of any of the other courses in the 5 boroughs. Management continues to improve the layout. Playing this course is money well spent.
Great muni
Excellent layout that now is well maintained and continues to improve. Best short game practice area and putting green in NYC, a good range to warm up on and a fun seaside links-y layout. I always have a great time playing here, although the rounds can be slow (4.5-5.5 hours at peak times on busy days). I try not to finish around sunset on calm days because the mosquitoes can be brutal from holes 14-18 at sunset but that’s what you get by the coast. All in all a terrific course and a great value.
Customer Services needs some work
When I arrived I stopped into the snack bar to get some water to take on the course. The person waiting on me was having a conversation with another staff member. She barely looked at me she basically served me while talking to this person the who time - I asked her several questions but she never heard me. Then I went out to the Starter to get my cart - I used a Tee Off Hot Deal when I purchased my round and it included a cart with two people. The Starter would not give me a cart unless I paid again for it - even though I had already paid with this deal on Tee off - he was completely unreasonable and argumentative telling me i had to contact Tee off or Golf now to get my money back. He was rude and insensitive and I don't believe he has the right temperament to be in this position.
Solid course
Have played here many times. Convenient. Well kept for a public course. Good pace of play. Driving range for irons was a nice warm up. Got there early and hit some balls.
It is my neighborhood course
I love playing there and all the other players I join on any given day
Well maintenanced
Pace of play was great,finished in 4 hrs.Although we did have a 6:30 tee time.The greens and fairways were in very good condition. The only thing that bothered me was The 14th hole which is a par five played to apply for because the tees were way up. I was shooting a great round and I wanted it to be legitimate so that bothered me
Architect
Terrific conditions throughout and the staff is continuously working the landscape to improve. This course is the best, affordable, public links course in the City system. It is 4x less expensive than Trump and infinitely better for ALL skilled golfers.
Scary thought, reading this might make my making a tee time more dufficult?
