About
Editor's Note: Course has been closed and redeveloped as Spy Ring Golf Course.
Heatherwood Golf Club is the sister course to the Pine Hills Country Club, which is a 30-minute drive away in Manorville. It is a short golf course at a little over 4,000 yards but the layout offers excellent short game practice. It is also a good test of your iron play. There are no par 5s but the golf course has an interesting variety of reachable par 4s and challenging par 3s. Mature trees are abundant throughout the course, specifically concentrated along the fairways. One of the most unique holes is the 11th, which features an optical illusion that causes players to line up in a way that makes their balls go to the right. The trick is to adjust your stance slightly left but even if you are still off the green is mercifully large and forgiving.
| Tee | Par | Length | Rating | Slope |

| White | 60 | 3775 yards | 57.9 | 97 |
| Red (W) | 60 | 3395 yards | 58.0 | 89 |

A Fun Short Course in great condition
This is a fun little course that we have played several times and the course is always in great shape. Greens are lightening fast and play moves along well.
Greens were very well maintained.
A short course made challenging by well maintained and true greens. Bunkers were also well groomed and played like one would expect (unlike many bunkers on Long Island where the "sand" is rock hard).
this course is friendly to my game
had great time with my husband will play again if get opp.
Great executive course.
This short course does still allow you to use every club in your bag.
Friendly Staff !
The course is short and interesting. Good practice for the short game.
Staff is very nice and friendly.
Conditions were still early spring, but not bad considering.
NICE LITTLE COURSE
HEATHERWOOD IS A NICE 18 HOLE EX. COURSE. THE CONDITIONS ARE ALWAYS GOOD, AND THE COURSE IS CLEAN. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A GOLF FIX HEATHERWOOD WILL CURB YOUR GOLF ADDICTION.
Great for tuning up the irons...
Overall a decent time out...Fun holes, fast greens and an excellent means of tuning up your short game. The pro shop is very friendly and the onsite Irish tavern is a great way to end a enjoyable day with friends.
Mixed feelings
The younger staff that works the front desk is super friendly, and extremely helpful. The older guy is simply rude, not friendly, seems like he doesnt realize his job entails customer service because he totally lacks those skills. Other than him, a good time.
Course is always a great pick if you don't want to spend your entire day on the course, because it generally moves along well is somewhat shorter
Heatherwood is always working to keep the course in great shape ... they are still cleaning up the damages from the winter storms, but it in no way hampers play. It's a great friendly quick moving course.
This course is usually well maintained and play is usually slow.
It was a cold windy day (32degrees at tee off time) so the course was empty. Some maintenance is still going on to clean up after winter storms caused tree damage. There were quite a number of ball marks on the greens that needed repair.
nice executive course, friendly staff.
Nice course, good value. nice restaurant, we'll definitely go back
great course for a fun day
Playing golf on Long Island in Jan. is a plus and the course in good shape
A nice EXECUTIVE course
Well maintained little course that is fun to play. It is a par 60 so may not be for everyone. Staff is reasonably friendly (depending on who is in clubhouse) starters are always friendly. I like going there as its close to my home.
Great course to play, from beginners to experienced players!
Great course, challenging for the beginning player to the more experienced player! Very well maintained , even after being hit by Hurricane Sandy, the course was playable 2days after the storm!
good warmup
Heatherwood is always in decent shape. You get to use the driver on 3-5 holes and the par 3's are all long enough to give you a challenge. A good course to brush up on your shorter game.
The Best Value for Money on LI
This par 60 ececutive course is the best value for money on Long Island...they even give you a free beer at the resturant.
excellent kept fairways and greens.
The course is always in excellent shape. The club house staff could be better but cordial. All outside staff from ranger to greens staff are always cordial and friendly. Excellent par 3 course with 4 holes you can use your fairway woods or driver.
A Well Kept Secret
Heatherwood is like the personal golf course you would build in your own backyard if you had the acreage. It's the perfect course for beginners but it's still challenging enough to keep your game up as you improve. A great warm up to be ready to rock a larger course the following day. Heatherwood's staff gives the impression that they love to have you play in addition to providing a very welcoming post-round atmosphere with the free 19th hole drink, the decent food in the homey restaurant and the wide range of local bands they have play during the summer months. A must if you want a round of golf that's fun, easy going, and great bang for the buck.
Highly Recommend!
