Worth the discounted rate
Worth the discounted rate. We arrived on time but they seem to be short on help and there was nobody in the pro shop for over 10 minutes. Then after we did check in, there is a charge for the range balls. The employee was very polite and helpful once he arrived but he seemed to have several responsibilities..Both being seniors, my husband and I found this course to be very difficult due to the cart path rules and distances. The course was very dry but the carts had to stay way back from the greens or on the cart path so it was almost like playing cart path only golf. Since it is extremely hilly it was a very difficult climb to get down and back up to the cart path. Other than that there was high grass in several places that was difficult to get out of but may be perhaps due to the rain they weren’t able to cut the grass. And also due to COVID we chose to go someplace else for dinner.
Challenging course
Some blind shots and dog legs make course interesting - beautifully situated on hillsides - fairways and greens in good shape - traps need work but they are just reopening after a fire in restaurant and of course the pandemic so am sure they will get to these

Poor condition

Course conditions were very good, although some golfers are not fixing ball marks on greens.

Mill Creek
Great test of golf from the blue tees. My only complaint was that the pace of play was slow, and it seemed like an extra 3-some cut in on the back nine. Other than that, beautiful golf course and quite challenging.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Swampy
I was happy to be able to play after we had about 4" of rain the previous day. Other than a few watery spots, the course was in pretty good shape all things considered. It was cart path only so the big challenge was trying to play to the "cart path" side of each hole to shorten the walk. We played along pretty well but it did take a bit longer having to walk across some fairways and in some cases not having the right selection of clubs for the distance (had to get creative a few times to avoid walking back to the cart for the right club). Some traps were still holding water and only one sloped green had a bit of water at the bottom of it. I was amazed so the drainage system was doing its job.

Great roll
The course is drying out with the lack of rain so expect a lot of roll (unless you get in the Heather). The greens are firm but will take spin and they are putting fast and true. I enjoyed the day even with a handful of 3 putt greens. Still some sand traps that need new sand but most traps around the greens have new sand. Some of the tees could use some more water as there are some where it is difficult to get a tee in ( mostly the par 3’s which require the tee to be sealed deep).

Under Construction
I’ve played Mill Creek many of times. One of my favorite courses.
I would have gave their amenities a higher rating, however, with the fire they suffered last season. Their kitchen, club house, and bar are all currently under repair.
Though, they did just upgrade all of their carts! No GPS still, however, new carts are always a good thing.
The greens were in good shape. The fairways were another story. Though, it’s understandable with their being next to no shade on the course, being a links course. The sun always burns the course up a little bit.
As always, the views are breath taking, even with it raining today. I can’t wait to see everything when it’s finished!
