Great course
Had a great time playing the course, in excellent condition, will 100% be back again
Good course
Good course, enjoyable test but the rough badly needs cut.
Good course
Good course but 4 ball wouldn’t allow us to play through adding about 1hr to golfing time, should have signs stating that 4 ball should allow play throughs
Good course
Good well maintained course but groups in front move really slow and didnt allow us to play through, added about. 1hr onto the round, should have signs stating that 4 ball should allow 2 ballers to move through
Brechin golf
Course in pretty good condition considering rain night before nice easy pace no rushing
Deceptive
At the first I thought I was in for an unenjoyable round, the fairway wasn’t in the best condition and the green was awful. But, to be fair, the weather has been terrible and I might feel differently about this hole if I play in the height of summer, when the course has had time to dry out.
However, as I played further holes, the condition of the course and the quality of the layout improved considerably for it to be a really enjoyable round. Some really nice holes, with varying degrees of difficulty, proved the first to be very deceptive.
Nice Course
Course was played as a two ball midweek. No problem getting a tee time - staff were friendly and bar/restaurant was lovely for after our round.
Course was in reasonable shape - the wet weather recently has affected course progress for opening up all greens/some parts were still significantly water logged and balls were plugging. Course was wet underfoot but still, mostly playable. We can’t control the weather in Scotland. It’s been a bad start across the eastern courses.
Really like how Brechin is laid out, lots of different holes that involve a variety of shots off the tee. Lovely setting.
Hopefully the course can dry out and play to its full potential soon.
Hidden Gem
Great course for the cost. Convenient for the dual carriageway also.
Course was very wet when we played but that was to be expected after the rain. Course lay out is good with a few challenging holes. Will definitly return.
Played one round and enjoyed it so much I went round again.
Pro was friendly and welcoming, the staff at the hickery restaurant was friendly and I had a brilliant full breakfast.
On the course the greens were really receptive. Good amount of long and short par 3’s and 4’s
Will deffo return for another round when in the area.
Nice course poor timing.
Course design is good with a mix of dog legs, inclined/declined holes and a good mix of obstacles.
Timing couldn't have been worse. Ran in to the back of an amateur competition at hole 3. First two foursomes let me through.
At hole 7, met another foursome at the tee box who advised me of the comp and said they were surprised I'd been allowed to play through and suggested I just practiced my chipping for a bit. What?
So was stuck behind a group with a lack of etiquette for 12 holes and wow, they were super slow. Took me a good hour longer to finish.
Then to add insult to injury, when I got back to the pro shop, the grumpy bloke in the group had complained to the club about why a single had been allowed on the course?
In summary, nice course but if that is an example of the typical member, I probably won't be going back.
Excellent condition, greens were fantastic.
Brilliant course
Really love the course. Beat my last score so am well happy only been playing for a few months.
Nice day for golf
Good day, slightly wet/soft under foot in places, there has been a lot of wet days recently, considering past weather, course overall in good condition.
