The Broomfield Course is maintained to the same high standards as Montrose Links' other 18-hole golf course - the Medal Course (now 1562 Course).

Originally a nine-hole course, Broomfield was extended to 18 holes in 1915. Because of the flat nature of the golf course, walking is easy, making it ideal for parties looking to play 36 holes in a day or to perfect your game before taking on the challenge of the Medal Course in the afternoon.

Measuring 4,800 yards, the Broomfield Course does not require long carries from the tee, but accurate approach shots are a must to find the small greens.

Nice course but poor greens

Overall the course was good. However the greens were pretty poor and there were rabbit holes everywhere including the greens

Great course for beginners or for folk taking up golf after a lengthy absence

Having recently started playing again this was my first round on 'The Broomie' for many years. The layout of the course has changed since the last time I played but it was well signposted so there was no confusion. As for the course itself it was in great condition and the greens looked immaculate, only small gripe would be the tee on the 9th is currently a small mat tucked away on a narrow path but the old tee was roped off so can only assume its under repair but really just a minor niggle. It's a fairly straight and flat course but a good challenge all the same, any wayward shots will find the deceptively thick rough. I was playing alone so eventually caught up to a couple of groups in front of me but that was no fault of theirs and the ones in front did offer to let me through but I would only have been held up by the ones in front of them. All in all a very enjoyable round of golf and I will definitely be returning in the very near future!

Nice for training and quick round

This is a short 18 hole next to its big sister - the medal ground. It is flat and has few obstacles and billiard ball flat greens. I went there because my game recently, particularly with woods was off and I wanted a bit of quiet practice. Its good for that or if you need a quick round. If you want a challenge then you need the medal course.
