Auchterarder Golf Club

Played this course for 1st time in mid July. Had lunch in the clubhouse before play & staff very welcoming. Pro shop staff also very friendly. Really enjoyed the course which was in great condition throughout. Spoke to a few local members on the course also friendly towards visitors. Course is mostly flat & a fair challenge. Greens were also in excellent condition. Would recommend this course to visitors & will definitely play again.

Course, not too punishing and in a beautiful setting

Quality golf course both in design and condition with amazing views,a pleasure to play.If I had one small moan, it would help if there where more next tee markers,although we where followed by two kind members in the group behind who pointed us in the right direction when needed

Played Auchterarder recently and overall had a good round, but with a few caveats.

Positives:

• The course was in excellent condition overall — fairways, tees, and bunkers all very well maintained.

• Layout is fun and playable for most golfers. It’s not too long or punishing, which makes it enjoyable for a relaxed round.

• Scenic and well-paced — great for a casual game with friends or a low-pressure round.

Negatives:

• Unfortunately, the greens had just been hollow-cored. This significantly affected the putting experience — they were sandy, uneven, and not rolling true.

• This would be understandable if it were mentioned at the time of booking, but there was no notice on GolfNow.

Summary:

A very enjoyable course when in full condition, and clearly well cared for. Just be cautious if you’re booking late July or early August — it seems to be their usual maintenance period. Had the greens been playable, this would easily be a 4-star or even 5-star experience.

Greens were awful, over sanded and not nice to play on.

Greens staff were awful and actually drove towards players, rather than being polite and waiting whilst we played.

Pace of play was woeful due to groups of dithering golfers, with no marshalling in place. We walked off after 13 holes and over 4 hours!

A poor experience overall.

The course was being upgraded, green staff were awful, actively driving movers towards us as we played, not a great experience.

What an amazing course, really well kept and very challenging. Greens were fast which made it harder.

Staff in the pro shop were friendly and very informative.

Amazing trip will be back.

Nice track, couple tight holes, could do with a bell on a couple holes to let players behind know its clear to go ( couple short drivable par 4s)

Lovely golf course. Greens fab. Smooth and fast. Some lovely holes. Quite tight so a few shouts of 4 but really nice track

Played Auchterarder course several times before always a warm welcome. Course in great condition, not the longest but tricky in parts. Greens were fast and true. Good food and a warm welcome. Highly recommend

Superb course with amazing hospitality bargains at £20 we will be back the guy in the club shop friendliest guy you’ll ever meet.

Email from golfnow stated it was winter tees, fairway mats and winter greens. This isn’t the case, it was still slightly forward tees but fairways were in play and only green off was the 11th. Excellent layout, greens are challenging but run really well. Played the course quite a lot. Always a good test.

Course was in great condition for time of year staff where pleasant and helpful very knowledgeable about the course and what was happening

Outstanding value for the time of year, greens were in good condition and fairways were never too damp

1st time I have played the course was very pleased. Course in excellent condition considering the amount of rain recently, only the 11th hole was on a winter green as they are remodelling the hole. There was no requirement to play off mats as yet, was impressed with how friendly staff and other golfers were. Professional shop was well stocked and very helpful with course layout

I will certainly come back to play again.

Excellent from arrival to departure. Warm welcome from the pro. Excellent course in great condition. Both a challenge and opportunities.
