Crieff Golf Club - Ferntower Course

About
The Ferntower Course is the 18-hole championship layout at Crieff Golf Club, which has been voted 29th best golfing facility in the UK by the readers of Golf World magazine. Ferntower is built on gently sloping parkland, with views over the Strathearn Valley that dramatically improve and unfold as the round progresses. With mostly wide fairways and the rough cut short enough to avoid prolonged ball searching, Ferntower appeals to all categories of handicapper. The par-71 golf course starts with a par-3 hole, a change from the norm. Although the opening hole measures 163 yards, it's all uphill, and there are three par 5s, among the remaining holes on the front nine.

Crieff a challeging but fair course.
Crieff is a challenging but fair course. I used to be a member there before moving away, the course is in fantastic condition and the club has made a lot of improvements since we last played there over a year ago. Pro and staff first class very friendly and extremely helpful as are the clubhouse staff.
Book now you will not regret it, a great course, great challenge and great people.
We paid £60 for a 4 ball fantastic value.
Crieff golf course
Nice and easy walking this course some interesting holes greens are good and consistent very friendly members and staff would recommend this course stunning views
we enjoyed just a shame about weather we had to come off after 6 holes it was too bad, pity you cannot change your day when you know the weather is going to be that bad everybody came off that day
Crieff
Course was in great condition for this time of year and greens were fast and flat would definitely recommend this course great value for money
Worth a visit
Stayed at Crieff hydro and Ferntower is next door. Also Dornoch ( 9 holes) but give that a miss. Ferntoower is challenging with long par 5's and excellent greens. Parlklandish so very little rough and generous faiways means not searching for balls every hole!
Time well spent
This course is a pleasure to play and offers a challenge to all levels. Not too testing for a high handicap but offers good scoring opportunities for better players. In excellent condition. Fairways well presented and greens interesting. Pro was very helpful and clubhouse welcoming. View of valley stunning from the high points of course. If playing take note of the slopes as ball can run away.
All round scenery.
On arrival great welcome helpful pro shop with a smile, lunch before play hit the spot put yards on my drive !! Was the course hilly, no , greens good, all in all great value for money and the scenery of the Perthshire hills was free.
If in the area put this one on your list .
Beautiful course
Lovely combination of well laid out course and fantastic surrounding scenery. Greens were in excellent condition for early May.
A hidden gem
Had some spare time while in Perth so called them up and got on in no time. A great experience, kind of a junior Gleneagles Kings Course which is just down the road. Very hilly, spectacular views and cheap. You better have your walking legs for this one. My only criticism would be that it starts with an uphill 200 yard par 3 (brute) and ends with a downhill 275 yard par 4 (not a brute!). After my round, I went into the pro shop and the attendant asked what I thought of the course. I answered, If I lived 10 minutes away from here I'd be playing this course 3-4 times a week. The ultimate compliment.
