The Cally Palace Hotel features a private golf course that is carved from the scenic parkland that surrounds the hotel. The course closely follows the natural contours of the landscape and utilizes the towering trees that dot the terrain. Golfers playing the course will have the opportunity to behold panoramic views of Cardoness Castle, Rutherford’s Monument, and the Fleet Estuary. In addition to the spectacular scenery, the layout offers a challenge for all skill levels with hidden burns and water hazards throughout provided by the Cally Lake. The Cally Palace Hotel also offers a practice area and putting green for golfers to use. Conveniently since the golf course has no members or competitions, it is rarely ever crowded.

The course was in great condition. The greens were in very good condition and receptive. The fairways were immaculate. Once again a really good experience.

Well Worth It

I got the impression this is more a hotel than a Golf Club/Course. There is no clubhouse as such, and no members, however the Hotel reception staff know there stuff when it comes to welcoming golfers. The course was in really good condition however there are a couple of long walks between greens and the next tee box, all of which are quite tranquil. That said we really enjoyed the layout, some short par 4's and a longer par 5, and the water hazards come in to play very well. The views of the property are enjoyed from several greens, and the natural beauty with all its wildlife are something I've not witnessed before in such abundance! Red Kites, Buzzards, and wild Deer all viewed very closely. There are some lovely trees on the property that also come in to play. There were only the green staff on the course when we played. I don't want to do the green staff injustice as they do a great job, I just feel if the Hotel/Owners really threw themselves behind the "golf course" they'd be on to a winner. We really enjoyed the round and for the price it's well worth a visit if you are in the area.
