Short and Steep

We got a very cheap booking off golf now for £25 each. We were welcomed by a very friendly man who advised us to go early to avoid a large group.

Facilities - practice, only a small putting green, slow and bumpy

Course - hilly, would not recommend pushing a trolley. Blind holes, some poor design.

Condition - sodden, muddy with slow greens, layout didn't require variation off the tee. Driver mostly and wood for long par 3s. Some paths, tracks in need of repair.

Great views.

Clubhouse is dated. No kitchen facilities when we visited but this is temporary. Bar staff unable to produce a cup of tea, only cold drinks. Locker rooms are old style and small and cold.

Played it for the experience, won't go back and won't recommend it.

A stunning wee course

Great course, good condition with spectacular views. I'm a high handicapper, and although I lost a few balls, I didn't find the course too punishing. Noticed very few bunkers, those I did see were generally positioned such that they posed little threat and could be ignored. Didn't have a problem with pace of place, although with so many Par 3s and tees right next to the previous greens, some waiting may be necessary - and be careful on Par 3 16th, the 17th tee is hidden to the left of the 16th green, I nearly tee'd off not knowing there were golfers on the 17th tee.

Much enjoyable course, would love to play again.

Lamlash

Wonderful course with amazing scenery. The fairways were in excellent shape and the greens were immaculate. It is quite hilly and I don't mind that at all, but if you struggle with hills, there are usually buggies available if you check before booking.

Had a nice chat with some of the staff before and after the round.

We honestly couldn't of picked a better day also. The sun came out just as we started and there was no-one else on the course till we were well away from the first, lovely.

A buggy would enhance the experience

The 10th hole from the yellow tees is iver 200 yards long, up hill, a dog leg left, flag impossible to see. It's a par 4 for ladies. Other par 3s were similarly long. Lots of uphill holes.

We hired pull trollies and were exhasted at the end of the 18 holes. Hiring a buggy wiuld definitely enhance the experience of a round of gokf at Lamlash..

Excellent tricky course, any wayward shots are heavily penalised. The club couldn't have been more accommodating with a rundown of the course before teeing off.

Course was deserted! Club house closed. It’s now winter season here.

Absolutely fun course to play with a quirky layout. Great condition & good greens.

Windy weather
Walked

Good to play, but a hilly course, with some challenging holes.

My wife and I enjoyed playing at Lamlash. We had played before, so knew what to expect. It is very hilly, so a battery trolley is strongly recommended. The course was in very good condition and we largely had it to ourselves. Our home course is relatively flat, so It was a challenge, with severely uphill and downhill lies, some tricky holes, and several long par 3s that are difficult to reach. The clubhouse was closed for food on the day we played, but the starter was particularly friendly and helpful. The weather was fine, so we had a good overall experience.
