Ardeer Golf Club
About
Well maintained greens and the burn running through it makes for a feature at several holes. Really hilly, particulary back 9 so be prepared for a hike. Gets you right out in the country and away from everything. Memorable Hole - 9th. Dog leg right to a steep sloping green, with burn running along front of it. Drive to the dog leg to leave an accurate pitch into green. If you hit front of green its more than likely a watery grave for you.
Make or Break - 5th. A monster 500+yds par 5. Tee from an elevated green then you need a good fairway wood to leave you chance of hitting green in 3. Out of bounds burn runs all way up right hand side of hole and round back of green. 3rd shot to green, tucked in a corner, is usually blind. A par here is excellent.

Great course
Played this course by myself, was almost empty so played very quickly. Fairways were tight and sometimes challenging and in good condition. Course layout was sometimes confusing but not too bad. Greens were quite slow but very consistent. Overall great course for the price
Highly recommend
Ardeer is a great course, it is fun but also a good challenge for most golfers, prices are very fair and the verity of holes is well thought out.
Friendly caddymaster
Fue un placer jugar aquí. Me impresionó la profesionalidad del Caddymaster. El campo es muy bueno, desafiante y está en perfectas condiciones.
Not a bad course. Shame about the "welcome".
Just fancied an early morning round on my own. Fair price and about 45 mins away from me.
Arrived early to get myself sorted. I had booked the 0730 tee time.
There was around 8 members waiting to tee off. I was "questioned" as to why I was there and it was pointed out to me that it was "their" tee time and mini medal. I shouldn't be playing. Not a great start.
Once the starter arrived at the shop, I was quizzed as to why I had managed to book the early tee time! Clearly, not my fault. If they can't operate the system then that shouldn't be projected on to myself. The starter was very gruff in his tone and incredibly not friendly. I was told I shouldn't have booked it. Now, it was available on the app, I booked it. I can see no problem.
Course was fairly decent. Greenskeppers were friendly, thankfully.
All in all an experience I shall not be repeating.
Nice layout pity about the long grass
Nice staff, nice layout but the course needed a mower over it. Starter said it had not been cut because it was too warm. Fair comment as its a small set up with minimal staff. For the price paid can't complain too much.
Course has potential with the correct maintenance.
Great round in super conditions
Brilliant round, without pressure or pace of play issues as it was quiet. Be prepared for a workout as it is very hilly but a lovely course.
Gorgeous views
Immaculately looked after, and all the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Great layout poor maintenance
Could be the best course in Ayrshire if it was just given some maintenance very poor conditions
Great day
An aesthetically pleasing, moderately difficult and well prepared course with a good variety of holes Staff and members were friendly and welcoming.
Back after 25 years
Arrived at Ardeer and the staff and members were all very helpful showing me where to go and who to speak with. I arranged a round and then teed off 10mins later. The course is in average condition with the greens proving a real hassle. They were very slow.and had been cored. The tee boxes weren't in the best condition however the fairways were decent enough. The front 9 has a nice variation of holes but the back 9 was very samey....up and down I enjoyed being back at the course my Dad was a member at and used to take me 25 years ago.
Nice track but greens need work.
Lovely staff and very friendly.
The course is nice but greens need work. Putting was not easy and made the round rather frustrating.
I will be back however as I know the greens will get treated and did endure some heavy rain the days before...
Felt £40 was a little too much with how the greens were but would pay this once they a good.
Thanks
Ardeer in the sun
Weather was great but the course is very average …layout is good but course conditions were poor , greens were not great , general conditions poor , no ball washers until 18th tee , tees poor and clubhouse locked up had to go looking for any staff. No of course amenities…. But only paid £15 🤷♂️
Fantastic course for the money
Was greeted by the friendly shop owner. He let me tee off 20 minutes early which was great. Course was in good condition given the time of year. A couple of muddy fairways here and there but that, again, is to be expected. All greens were in fantastic shape, no rough patches at all. Fairways nice and open with a few testing narrow fairways and blind uphill shots making for a challenging but very fair course. The 5th 7th and 12 par 5s and 14th par 3 were definitely memorable holes providing an excellent challenge. Will definitely be back and urge any golfer to pay this course. Definitely get your moneys worth
Great Course
The course was great the only reason for 3 stars was it was winter conditions although did play this course last summer was in excellent condition definitely play again
Great value for money
Had a great round today. After rain earlier this week the course was a bit muddy but still enjoyed the round. Course is challenging with some nice shots into greens both uphill and downhill. Starter was very friendly and welcoming and will return.
Hidden Gem
A good test of golf, a few blind shots, but that makes it interesting. The semi rough is a nice length the heavy rough like any other course if you are in it its a bad shot.
Greens slower than a lot but very true, Course generally tidy, great lay out and a pleasure to play.
Good friendly staff.
Great Course
Very well maintained course, greens were in great shape too. Really enjoyed my round and will definitely be back playing here
