First time at Wishaw

Didn’t have many expectations, greens were in really good condition, tree lined and a test for driving accuracy. Staff in the pro shop was friendly. Decent course and for the money an easy 5 star.

Golf

1st time playing this course as I’ve only took golf up last year , really good course although found some holes long for a beginner, can’t fault course or greens really good condition and that was after some heavy rain will definitely go back

Slow play

Nice little course, plenty of holes with blind shots, could do with white marker to help knowing where to hit, we were a two ball with a four ball in front, and they wouldn’t let us through, so round took 4 hours 20 mins. Not Ideal

Well worth it

Played first day without mats. Still boggy in places and greens not great . But worth the money for first knock of the season.

Course is nice laid out

Friendly staff, good facilities, Course is nicely laid out, not hilly and not a slog to get round, the greens were fine for the time of year (March) well sanded and drilled in preparation for the tear ahead

Winter Golf

The heavy rain on previous days made the fairways sodden, but not unplayable, especially with use of matts . 17 of 18 greens were being used which was great.

Good course layout with some really good par 3’s.

Great value through golf now.

Moving into winter

£15 and great value for time of year on a private course. However, it would be best played in the summer if visiting. Course retains water on its clay bed and was quite bogey in places. Be aware (it wasn’t highlighted on Golf Now when booking), the course currently requires mats to play off ALL SHOTS, except tee and putting of course. These come at a cost of £15 each!!!

Course itself is a bit back and forth straight tree lined fairways - hence the average rating. To contradict that, it does have a few picturesque and signatures holes that break up the blandness. Overall, I would happily play it again in warmer weather and ideally not behind a members 3 ball…very, very slow and fell off the recommended pace sign at the 6th. We were a two ball and a lot of hit and wait with no waive through. Slight dampener on what was otherwise an enjoyable day. Go play it though, it’s worth the trip, despite the little mentioned glitches. 6/7 out of 10.

Winter matea

No one told us that we had to get "winter mate" so each time we tee off we were to take our shot over to the rough to hit the shot which was a pain to do that

Great course

Course was set up great. Was in great condition considering the previous few days of torrential rain. Greens immaculate and ran true. Been a long time since playing Wishaw due to moving from the area will definetly be back to visit soon. Apologies as I never got your name but the pro shop staff member was extremely helpful and welcoming. Would recommend.
