Beautiful Northwoods Course
Although we were warned that the layout was tight, I didn't feel it was overly so. The illusion (and the allure) is that each hole is isolated - you may occasionally hear another group, but you won't see them due to the tree- lined holes. Much more elevation change than initially anticipated. Early in the round some fairways exhibited some disease, but the greens played soft and rolled true. Staff extremely friendly. As noted by previous reviewers, the lack of an open on-course facility to sit and relax after the round was puzzling. But both myself and my fellow competitor agreed that we would definitely play this course again.
pro shop staff could work on being more congenial..
We were told to have all carts back by 7:55. First course we ever played that had such a request.
It does stay light much later. We were told we could golf after that but we would have to walk.
It was nice to have the beverage cart stop often on such a hot day"......
course was in great shape even after all the rain we had
Experience was excellent
St Germain is a beautiful course, very well maintained and staff is friendly. My only complaint would be that after our first 9 holes it was only 4:00 on a Thursday and the concessions building was closed. We thought that was kind of odd especially on a hot day where beverages and food would have come in handy. I would definitely golf this course again.
Favorite Course in Wisconsin
My family and I have been coming to St Germain for many years and I make it a priority to play this course every time we visit. Just an absolutely beautiful course with moderate difficulty. The fairways and greens were in awesome shape this year with all the rain. Unfortunately the shop at the turn was closed so we couldn't get a sandwich or beer.
Overall, I always have a great time playing this course.
Great north woods course
Nice course. Beautiful scenery , good length fe women's tees, great condition.
St Germain
The course was in excellent shape even though the greens had been aerated and sanded recently. Had a great time AND WE WILL PLAY THERE AGAIN.
Wonderful Northwoods Course
I love to play here because I am able to get out on the course by myself instead of having to be paired with strangers all the time. The clubhouse staff, the maintenance crew, and especially the golf pro are always friendly. The front nine is quite challenging and the scenery is beautiful. This course is cut through the woods, but fairways aren't too narrow. Sand traps are strategically located and the greens are in good shape. Season passes and daily green fees are reasonable.
Beautiful course
This golf course is a beautiful course. Better appreciated if you have time to walk it. I would recommend this course to average to good players as it is a tighter course.
Bring lots of balls
St Germain is incredibly tight, if you miss a fairway by 5 yards you are OB 80% of time. I literally bought more balls at turn. Very good condition overall though. The ranger staff is pretty much useless, we played in 4:40 and course was not packed. Ranger didn't want to give groups clogging course ahead any coaching on how to play faster. Some memorable holes. Play early to avoid long round.
Had a great time
This course is one of the best in the Northwoods, a must stop for out of towners. Perfectly groomed and maintained, the greens are fast but true.
