Adversity Never Disappoints
Lost Marsh, also referred to around the neighborhood, “Lost Ball March”. Is a real BEATUY tucked away in the corner of Hammond, IN. But with the luxury club house and all the amenities of a private course. Golfers beware a PGA style challenge awaits you. The first 4/5 holes are all difficult. Must carry the water on all of them. If that is easy for you, then what about the wind. Similar to Harbor Side there is nowhere to hide from the Lake Michigan gusts. Buckle up your boot straps, tighten your hat an extra notch and let’s play some f$?king Golf!
Would be 5 stars if the staff wasn't so rude
Would be 5 stars if the staff wasn't so rude. Definitely killed some of the excitement I had going into the round but I shrugged it off. Great layout and a lot of challenging / scenic holes.
Tough course but soooooo nice
This course has a lot of challenging holes but it’s a lot of fun and is kept in excellent condition.
Great layout but course needs some work
The layout of course is great and somewhat challenging, especially the first several holes. But the tee boxes are pretty beat up with dead grass. And the greens are slower than the practice green and not consistent.
Lost Marsh
I played Lost Marsh on 9/2/22. It’s been over five years since I’ve last played here, and I have to say the course is in excellent shape. The greens rolled true and the whole course was perfect. For those who have played here before and are well aware; if you can get past the first five holes in decent shape you will be on your way to a good round of golf. I was not so lucky. Lost Marsh is a challenge and I personally believe the slope rating does not accurately reflect the toughness of this course. There were some tee boxes that were aerated, but that didn’t bother me, it’s part of yearly maintenance. I did read a lot of negative reviews beforehand about the staff. I do have to say on the day we played all staff were friendly and professional. I can’t wait to come back. I would also highly recommend grabbing something to eat upstairs after your round of golf. The food was delicious.
Excellent Course
Beautiful Course. Amazing staff. Bring your course management skills!
Great layout but needs some work
The course is very well designed and somewhat challenging, especially the first 4 holes. the condition of the teeing ground for some holes is really bad for example hole #5. The green speed is a bit slow and not consistent. Hopefully some maintenance work can be done to keep the course in good shape.
They must be preparing for a US Open
There are quite a few quirky holes out here but we knew about them and still decided to make the drive to play. The big problem is/was the height of the rough. Out of control. Our threesome found more than a dozen balls looking for ours. No need for this. All it does is slow-down the pace of play looking for errant shots. Mentioned it to the pro shop guy afterward and he could give a care. All of the water and tricked-up holes makes this place difficult enough….they don’t need this rough issue.
Great Layout
Awesome course but greens really need to either hand players a divot repair tool or have staff come out to repair them
