Golf cart drama
Course obsessed with rationing carts to the point they make you stand in line til they bring one up one at a time. As a result I didn’t have any time on the range …?Also the young lady at check in was .. let’s say … unpleasant
Course was in great shape.
Course in Great condition but pace was bad
Greens are rolling nice and fairways plush.
Starter was very friendly. Played on Saturday pace of play was bad, close to 5 hrs. No Marshall to enforce pace of play. Played from blue tees but a lot of the tee box were moved up one or two tee box so didn't really represented the blue tees distance.
Great course, poor service.
Started with rude greeting at proshop for payment. If you don't like your job, you don't have to exude that sentiment to your customers. Had to wait 10+ minutes for carts to be brought to us. No information requested or provided as we were first time visitors. Which direction to range, location of first tee, just go figure it out on your own.
Loved the golf course although it was right on the line of whether or not it should be open as the fairways were so wet (no one's fault). Great course, but below average experience - too bad.
PGA quality without the price
Absolutely beautiful course and clubhouse with very friendly and helpful staff from the pro shop to the marshals. Playing as a single I'm used to being ignored or worse hassled on a course, however everyone including the groups in front of me were very friendly and helpful, freely giving advice and letting me play through without any problems. If you want to play a quality course below the standard $300 green fee definitely look up Golf Club of Houston
What happened?
1st time playing, excited as always watched the Shell Houston Open. Nice facilities but since the tournament left it’s like they gave up in the course. Bunkers were awful, some were falling apart, had mud in them, haven’t been raked in days/weeks. Outside of the greens and fairways mowing seems optional. Some greens had bald spots and bumpy. No ball washers or garbage cans on entire course, no water unless you get it from clubhouse. For the price you can go play courses in better condition for half the price. Won’t be back anytime soon. Very disappointed.
The course was in great shape. However, the cart we got was not charged properly and was not functional after 15 holes. We pushed it back to the clubhouse but on a 97 F day , it really was a downer!
