Golf Club of Houston - Member Course

This course has a fun variety of holes and several of which pose a real challenge with the prevailing wind. Greens punched last week but overall rolled OK despite this, just wish there had been a notification of the maintenance prior to booking. The pace of play was great on the front but ran into a logjam on the back nine as the pace slowed significantly. Overall, this course is a real treat to play and the conditions are consistently great.

on course came by often. Water and ice provided in the cart. Pro shop staff, starter and Marshall’s were very nice. Driving range was included. Look forward to playing again.

As always, course conditions were really good, pace of play was fantastic. Only ongoing disappointment is that they charge for range balls, which for a high end daily, is a little bush league IMO. Will go back again and again.

Played the Tournament course, it is in great shape tee to green, not too crowded, so pace of play was good, only complain woud be that there is no drinking water on the course, wish they would have told me when I checked in that there was no cart girl on the course, when the marshall told me this on hole #10 he was kind enough to go buy me a few beers and bring them to me, that was great.

I enjoy this course and it is always in great condition; however, consistent issues with pace of play make it difficult to justify paying the money to play here. This is the third consecutive time I have played this course when it was relatively empty (saw no more than 6-8 groups on the course today) and the round has taken close to 5 hours. Either lower the price and turn the course into a dump or hire some Marshalls who will moderate a reasonable pace of play. Hoping for the latter.

I now understand why the PGA tour guys have an easy time putting with greens that roll true and fast. Greens are in great condition! A little maintenance here and there but expected this time of year. I rather them spend the money on keeping the course in good condition instead of cart girls and marshall's. If you are a low handicap player you will enjoy it, but if you go to hack it around and drink beer there are better courses for that. Overall great experience and the golf shirts were 60% off if you buy 3 or more, bonus!

I've played this course about 8-12 times a year and this was the 1st bad experience I've encountered. The course was perfect, as can be expected, the round, unfortunately, was not. Booked a tee time and showed up early because frequently I can go off early. Today, was told that myself and 2 others would be teeing off on 10 behind a tournament that was still.playing... no big deal. Great guys that I played with, however, when we went to the tee box there were teams still waiting and behind us making the turn. The group in front of us had started on hole 6 and we waited for 2 groups at each teebox the entire day until our last 4 holes. Is Golf Club of Houston hurting for money and need to squeeze teetimes in during a tournament? Unacceptable guys...wouldn't have driven up from League City had I known...

Sunday 7:00 am tee time. Arrived at 6:00, pro shop never opened before tee time. Finally was shuttles over to members pro shop, but by that time we were on the tee. No time to hit any range balls. Bunkers not raked, still had last round tracks, etc.. Nobody told us, but about every other hole was cart path only. At the turn, the on-course snack/beverage shack was closed. No beverage service at any time during the round. The service and experience was far below the premium cost to play here. It’s too bad, the track is good and they have the amenities, but if you can’t get people to run the pro shop, man the Tourn or provide simple beverage cart service, that’s below average.
