Pleasant Suprise
After looking at other reviews did not know what to expect. Used golf now app and my discount felt it was a good value compared to other courses around. Teed it up and had only one single who played thru. After that did not see anyone course was ours alone.
Rain Forrest golf
River Course layout is nice . As a intermediate golfer , 219 handicap , I found it very fair for my skillset beautiful green scenery with coconut trees everywhere . Because of the prior days rain . The course was a little slushy outside the fairways .. the greens were slow because of being sanded , due to rain .. they had 2 cart girls traveling the course with refreshments .make sure to indulge , because you do not pass by the clubhouse on the back 9. We booked through golf now app paid $148 w/ cart plus $75 club rentals (pings)..we played on a Monday 11am t teem . As a 2some We got on early 10:15 not many people on the course. Wich made for no rush pace of play . Would recommend ,if you could get a good deal .they also have an ocean course not sure how much $. Hope to play that next time in Puerto Rico .
Great Course Layout but....
I will return but hope that as time goes along they invest more money on agronomy to improve the quality of the grass and trim, as well as improve drainage. Much of the course was damp, but being near a rain forest there might not be much they can do on that front. Eventhough the course was not in primo condition, it was fun and there were some nice views to be had.
The course is in good shape, but the pace of play is slow. Waited on every hole.

Course was well laid out and nicely maintained, VERY wet mostly due to rain but from what the maintenance crew said it is typically wet due to the proximity to the rainforest.
Looking forward to playing again!
Nice course
Fun course! I come from Los Angeles where I play most of the public courses. I’d say this place is slightly above the average LA municipal. Fairways were nice. A little damp. Greens were very slow and not in great shape.
Very wet
The people were great. Not sure how it usually is, but the course was really too wet to play. Cat paths only, very muddy.
Other than that it was fine.
Poor course condition
Overpriced golf course in poor condition. We planned to play both the river course and ocean course back to back but due to the river course being in poor condition, decided against spending another $280 (Friday morning/afternoon with rentals) to play the ocean course. Maybe the ocean course is nicer but we couldn't justify spending that amount of money for a golf course worth $40 in the states. The river course has a few scenic holes with mountains in the background but other than that, I can’t really remember any details of the actual course design. Some tee boxes were questionable, fairways contained crabgrass and were WET, greens had a ton of sand.
Loved it
We enjoyed the river course a little bit better than the ocean course.
I do not play in this climate zoe often, but the quality of the grass is really poor.
In addition, a few greens were relocated by a lot and their cart map, hole distance markers, or 18 birdies were not updated. At least they should have warned about that during the check in.
At several holes the cart would not move due to the gps malfunction
The teeoff are had missing color marks
And many other issues that resulted in poor rating
In the midwest, much better quality courses are half the price
