Glen Annie Golf Club

I live in Arizona and visit santa barbara a couple of times a year. I played this course about 10 years ago and played again 2 weeks ago this time with my wife. She is a beginner who has some fears of golf and course conditions. I have taken her to courses all around arizona, Texas, Louisiana and top courses in California. This was by far her best round of golf ever and she loved it. I did as well. Conditions were amazing and even during these covid times the staff had gone above and beyond. Also we left in a hurry to get to dinner and I left my rangefinder in the cart cup holder. I called the pro shop after getting home to arizona and told them. I also gave them my cc# so they could send it back to me. They decided to mail it to me and also paid for the shipping. These is a top notch course with amazing staff. Thank you. Jeff Nadler

a mix of wine country and ocean. enjoyable if you’re not in a rush and want a relaxing round of target golf and local beers. however, if you are looking for fast play and not hitting it well, could be a rough day.

For $73, we were expecting more lush conditions especially after they’ve been closed for so long

A locals course, and nice way to walk on and play some golf. Expect pace of play to be average at best, but overall, good value and nice course.

Could not ask for a nicer day....76 degrees nice! Very Clean everywhere, but it took forever to get checked in and the staff wasn't very friendly or helpful. Though we were going to miss out tee time! got there with plenty of time to check in and warm up. Made it just fine.

Spaced out from the others by 12 Minutes, the pace was perfect as well.

The course was quite dry, but if you stayed in the fairway conditions where good.

Greens where good, we liked the raised cup, made for some fun shots!

All in all, would play here again, probably only on a deal.

Glen Annie is a pretty course, but the pace of play can vary by over an hour. There needs to be more pace of play supervision

Walked the Greens (6417/71.3/130) in 4H twilight, paired with Tyler. The weather was clear, fairly calm and around 75. This may be the toughest course to walk I have ever encountered. On numerous holes the next tee is a hike from the last green and especially the back is severely up/down hils. Enjoyed the tough layout. Wish I had seen several holes beforehand, would have played them differently. Hardly a straight hole to be found, tough driving course from the Green tees with numerous mature trees to shape shots around to get in prime position. Numerous blind shots down hills or around doglegs where course knowledge is essential. The Bermuda tees were mediocre. Par 3's were overly chewed up. Par 4/5 tees were lush... TOO lush. maintained so high I had a hard time getting a long tee to stick and allow me to tee drivers within an inch of my preferred heigth. The Bermuda fairways were lush and nice to play from, but also a little high for my taste. The rough had Bermuda, kukuyu and fescue and was generally nasty. At least a half club penalty. The sand traps had a decent amount of brown dirt/sand and were decently maintained. I thought they played alot better than they looked. The large bent greens putted medium speed and were smooth. I do not think I had a putt the entire round I played more than 1' of break on and saw the lines well. I made more than my share of putts in the 6' to 15' range, loved the greens! The customer service was good. $37 to walk twilight is steep. Saw the drink cart once. My advice would be that if you are thinking about walking and are not familiar with the layout beforehand, DON'T. I thought on first impression that 71.3/130 ratings were probably too low. Recommened, good playing conditions and a stern test.

Great time! Perfect weather. A great get-away from the heat in the Central Valley. Staff was friendly and attentive. The golf course was in good conditions and the green fast. The layout was challenging and you had to use some strategy off the tee. You didn't want to use the driver all the time. The only drawback from the Glennannies Golf Club was the warm-up facilities. Hitting off mats and small chipping area took away from the beautiful setting of the hills above Goleta Ca. Overall i'm coming back for another bichin day of challenging, but really fun golf.
