The Sea Ranch Golf Links

About
Sea Ranch Golf Links opened in 1974 as one of the first Scottish links-style golf courses to be built in the Western United States. The front nine stretches along the rugged North Coast, offering plenty of scenic ocean views, while the back nine moves inland, incorporating the small creeks that meander across the landscape. Mature redwoods and natural sea grass rough accent the golf course, especially along the fairways to provide some challenges. The design is noted for blending seamlessly with the scenic surroundings. While the golf course can seem intimidating, four diverse sets of tees make it more approachable for a range of skill levels. In addition to the course, Sea Ranch is also popular for its practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range and two short game areas with putting and chipping greens.

Par 3 8th green. Probably the most picturesque hole on the course. Photo submitted by Richard4180889 on 02/19/2018
Sea Ranch
The Greens and the Fringe around the greens were in excellent shape the fairways were in rough shape and bare in a lot of areas beautiful course and deer on the course all over the place which was nice seeing. I would think when they get a little rain the course of the absolutely beautiful
Good Time
A MUST Play course for any nearby Bay Area resident. The drive on Highway 1 to and from course was spectacular (but winding so don't be in a hurry). While playing golfers have beautiful views of the ocean and are playing on a challenging and well-designed course. A water shortage causes main parts of course to be dry--but the nearby greens and approach shots are well-maintained and green. The dry areas weren't a big deal. This course is designed for true golfers. Keep your balls in the fairway and you will be fine. Staff is helpful and friendly. Satisfactory driving range to warm up and plenty of carts. Had a great time. Lots of mother nature to enjoy. Very scenic course and relaxing.
Greens are fantastic. Really have to play the slope of the fairways as fairways are very hard and slanted. Love all the wildlife on the course

Needs better on-course direction
Carts and course condition leaving tee boxes needs improvement. Greens good. Difficult to figure out best line of play and proximity of hazards from blue tees. Lost several balls because I didn’t know the layout/where to position ball for next shot.
Course in Great Condition
We had a really enjoyable round even though it was a very windy day. The course was in excellent condition, with flagsticks in some challenging positions. We have played this course many times, but always find it an interesting layout with ocean views on most holes, and pathways through the trees which are beautiful.
Good course but a long travel to get there
This course is about a 2 hour drive from Santa Rosa so not easy to get to, but worth the ride once or twice a year. Especially when they have a discounted rate in place which they did yesterday as they were just getting started again with GolfNow. Later in the year the rates will be much higher once they get people coming again. Also right now they can only have Sonoma County residents even though the course is less than half a mile from Gualala in Mendocino County.
A beautiful golf day
I have been playing golf at sea Ranch, for probably 35 years. It is such a beautiful track, The front nine wines around the ocean, the back nine is up on the inland, which I find much more challenging. The course is undeniably stunning. It definitely is not in the same shape it was in 35 years ago, it’s still in good shape and beautiful, with stunning views. I have found it to be a very special place, even as it is showing its age, and somewhat neglect.
Highly recommend golfing at The Sea Ranch golf course
The course was in great shape. It was easy to get a tee time and there was almost nobody else there. I could play this course every day.
Sea Ranch Links
Had a great day on the course. Challenging and fun. Links style layout and scenic greens Oceanside. I will return.
Course was in great condition and pace of play was ideal
October golf on the north coast
Beautiful weather, not much wind don’t let the front 9 fool you. Lost a lot of balls in the back 9 . Easier than bodega Harbour
It is as quiet and efficient as advertised.
My wife and I truly enjoyed the experience. The greens were in excellent condition.l
A hidden gem.
Very enjoyable. The greens were fantastic and the terrain is beautiful.
