Played The Hamptons with my wife on 1/25. We try to play this course a couple times while we are in Florida. It is always in good shape. The greens roll true and are consistent throughout. If you want to see gators, this is the place. We saw at least 8 ranging from 3-5 feet. The staff is always very welcoming from starter Bill to inside Pam and others. We will be back again.
Great executive course
Golf course is always well maintained, staff if extremely helpful & friendly. Restaurant/ bar on site and good food.
An interesting short game test
I've played this course three times now. It's really a challenging course even though it is short. No par fives. Quite a few par threes. But, there is water on virtually every hole, and errant tee shots are punished, while good shots are rewarded (as they should be). The fairways and greens have contours that require thinking about where you are going to try to place your shot rather than just aiming for the fairway, knock it on the green, take your par and move on.
The course is in good shape. The bermuda rough has enough body (depending on where you are and how you got there) that it can give you everything from a ball suspended a 1/2 inch or more off the ground to a ball at the bottom of a couple of inches of thick wiry grass. So, approach shots from the rough can be challenging (again, as they should be).
The staff is always very pleasant and helpful, and the 19th hole is very nice as well.
While, for me living in Kissimmee it's a 45 minute drive, when the price is right, it's a fun course to challenge your short game and make you think your way through 18 holes.
Challenging Little Course
Had a great time but not recommended for golfers that aren’t comfortable carrying 120 yards consistently or that are comfortable with narrower tea shots. A lot of trouble between water and houses around the course. A lot of fun for a more experienced golfer who won’t shank as much, a duo can play the full course in 2 hours almost. I will be back after shooting 6 over on the back 9!
Great little course
We've played this course a couple of times previously and have always enjoyed it.
The course length and difficulty is just right for my wife who only plays occasionally.
The staff are all very friendly and the course was in great condition, just a few wet spots here and there, but there has been a lot of rain recently.
Would definitely recommend for beginners and intermediate golfers of 28 handicap and above.
We'll be back again next time we visit Florida.
Always a great day at The Hamptons
The staff are always welcoming and friendly here and make you feel great about being their guest. The course has an interesting layout and helps to really tighten your short game. The greens were fast and true. Will play again.
Different in the Fall
I played this course in the summer last year. At that time, it was very wet, with limited roll out, and I played the first couple of holes in heavy fog (not great when you haven't played a course before and the people you are playing with are also new to the course). In the summer there were gators on the banks of every lake, and there's a lake on just about every hole so you need to hit it straight, and the correct yardage. That said, it's a fun course...in good condition with fast greens. Playing through the middle of two sections of a large manufactured homes community the course is tight, and errant shots are punished with lost balls, but if you can keep it in the center of the fairway (on the roughly half of the holes that are par 4s), and pick you lines on the par 3s (the other half of the holes), you can get through it with only one lost ball. There were no gators to be seen on this cool fall morning and the course was firmer and faster, but still a lot of fun.
Great Little Course
Front 9 greens are back open and looking beautiful. The entire course is in excellent shape and plays great. Small par 3 course, with some 4 mixed in to pull the driver out occasionally. Spoke with the starter, who was super friendly, and he advised they are even getting a new greens keeper! Will absolutely be back soon.
