Great Layout in Very Good Condition
I keep coming back to this course because I love the layout, and the course conditions have been improved. Nice fairways and smooth, fast greens are laid out in an undulating terrain that provides plenty of variety for right and left doglegs and elevated tee boxes. The staff are always courteous and friendly. The scorecard lists yardages ranging from 4,649 to 6,880 so the course is playable for players of all ages.
Great Day at Twisted Oaks
Twisted Oaks is in great shape and I would recommend trying it if you haven't already. The staff is friendly and pace of play very good on the weekdays.
The greens were in great shape as were the fairways and tee boxes, couldn't ask for better.
If you're going to stay to eat, you'll find the food good for the price.
This course is in GREAT shape.
This course is in extremely good condition!! It has an outstanding layout to suit all levels of golfers. The tee boxes and fairways are well manicured and the greens are terrific!! Your putts run true and fast... The staff and ground crew are always helpful and friendly. In addition, it has a great practice facility. I highly recommend this course!!!
Moderately challenging
Course is in extremely good condition...fairways and greens. Very friendly staff and grounds crew. You will be extremely satisfied for the price.
Great Course
I have been playing Twisted Oaks for the last 8 years. It is a great layout - interesting holes and some contours unlike some Central Florida courses. The course is in good shape - fairways have just been aerated, but still playable. The greens are mostly in good condition with some minor exceptions - the first hole is playing to a temporary green while the original green is being refurbished.
Greens need work
I played this course several months ago and the greens were the same they have not improved there are lots of bad spots you have to putt across.the pace of play was very good there wasn't many golfers on the course, and the layout is good.
18 Greens-Not 1 Good 1
Sad to say every Green was Toast-Terrible condition- I think the bus boy ,is also the golf super there.your putting on scarred greens-that are burnt out-cant get a true roll cause deep scarring in the greens-until they rebuild all 18 greens-just go to the driving range-------wish somebody before me gave a true review like me- would of saved
me 4 hours
Excellent value course
An excellent track, especially for the money. A good mixture of challenge and fun. Some holes will surprise you on the accuracy required to play them correctly...or at par. Others are pleasing visual trips through a very well laid out recreational venue.
Great afternoon four ball.
Always enjoy playing here at Pine Ridge. The course is always in good playing condition and the terrain of the course is special.
Lots of elevation changes!
It's a ways back in the boonies but we feel it's worth the trip. Greens and fairways were nice and green all the way to the rough. Greens putted well and were fairly fast. It was hot and dry, but a little rain would make the greens more receptive. Great course, nice folks, good food. We'll be back!
GREAT COURSE!!
This was my second time playing this course and j don't know why I don't play it more. The Lay out is great and the staff is very friendly. It is also one of the only courses around with a great practice facility. Only issue was the hey just sanded the greens but other than that it was great!
Try it - you'll like it!
What an outstanding layout! - which is quite hilly. The par 3's are scenic, the numerous hills add a lot of visual pleasure to the course, and the layout is such that you just can't grip it & rip it. A few of the greens was patched and scarred, which is what kept me from giving it a 5 star rating. A good value and well worth playing.
Some parts of the greens under repair
A fully booked course is bound to have some delays and we needed just over 4 hours for the round. The course is surprisingly hilly and although fairly short by that challenging.
Greens were hit by some mishap that made patchwork necessary. Apart from that the greens were in good shape
Wait for better greens
This course has some great holes, especially the back 9. Issue is that the Greens (most of them) have too many Ground Under Repair areas (they should be marked as such, at least). Compared to many other local courses (Crystal River, Meadows, Oaks), the fees here are more and the greens are worse, much worse. Can't wait till the Greens heal, cause the layout is challenging and fun. Till then, I'll spend less and putt on better Greens.
Good Time
Enjoyed the course with friends. Found the course length and layout to be very good by my standards. The greens were fair to good and quite puttable and the fairways were very good for Florida this time of year.
Twisted Oaks in January 2016
Interesting layout...lots of uneven lies for a Florida Course. Greens were, unfortunately in pretty bad shape. Slow and damaged - all 18 holes. I can tolerate about anything else but bad greens. It's a shame because I wanted to like this course.
Improvements Recognized
Had not played the course in 3 years due to poor conditions at the time. Was nice to see new ownership has made significant improvements. Greens were thin with some patchy spots but rolled well. Will return.
disappointed
The course fairways were in good shape but the greens wee in bad shape, many sandy patches where they have tried to improve the conditions.
The overall suggested price was way to high for the condition of the course in my opinion.
Fun course. needs a little work
The fairways are in good shape but the greens need work.
Greens are terrible
We played this course almost every day 2 years ago and it was great.
Not so much now. the greens are the worse shape of any golf course in the area that we have played and we have played most of them.
bald spots, patches of green, sand everywhere. Almost impossible to read.
The fairways are in great shape. They should play the course backwards. Tee off from the greens and putt on the tee boxes , which are smoother than the greens. I know they had a problem with the greens, but for what they are charging. Had I not got a hot deal. I would have been upset.
