Nice to get out
Few green bit sandy and price creeping up but generally enjoyed my round
90% Great
Fairways are excellent, the rough is challenging but not too bad, 90% of this course is enjoyable, until you have to putt, the greens are horrible, some, almost unplayable , the dry spots filled with grit/ sand makes the ball bobble all over the place, you're wasting your time reading them, aim for the pin and hope for the best.
Greens were in extremely bad even for this time of year, for USGA spec greens they seem to be extremely neglected and in dire need of maintenance to revive them.
It looks like the council are not willing to carry out the necessary work needed in order to repair them. The sand on them is more like grit.
Enjoyed
Only front 9 open and some of these holes well shortened but still enjoyed getting out.
Christmas golf
Course in not bad condition,couple of holes reduced to 150 yards and 100 yards due to winter condition,but not playing of mats and no temp greens
Great for time of year
Enjoyed Loughall. A bit wet and greens a bit bumpy, but still very enjoyable
Other Golfers
Me and my mate, stuck behind the slowest 3 ball in history, never seen 3 people take so long to putt or even drive, we timed them, 9 mins to get 100 yards.
At no point did they let us play through, also had a 4 ball behind us that hit right through the green we were putting on, I had to jump out of the way of the ball.
I have played this course a lot over the years, and enjoyed it, but clearly it's gone downhill.

Loughall was in great order and very enjoyable to play. Greens in excellent shape. A great course for all levels
2nd round ever
Really enjoyed this course. Challenging with nice wide fairways. Lots of hidden flags off the tee which I struggled with not knowing where to aim for. Few water hazards which sneak up on you. But an excellent course. Will play again.
