East/North at Spanish Wells Country Club
About
Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs offers tennis and bocce courts, a fitness center, and 27 of the most picturesque holes in southwest Florida. The holes are divided into three nines: the North, South, and East; that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The East/North Course combines the longest nine and the shortest nine. Towering pines and palms as well as mature oak trees cover the entire course. Almost just as abundant is the water, which makes an appearance on almost all of the club's holes. The golf course begins with one of the few holes at the club where water doesn't come into play. Although trees line both sides of the fairway on this dogleg right par 4, the landing area off the tee is generous.

Golf course or backyard? Photo submitted by Jimmy3044469 on 06/14/2018
OK
We got range balls but couldn't hit them because there were no carts available so had to go back to pro shop and get refund for balls which was not terribly smooth. Felt like a golf factory. Conditions just OK. Not a great value
Spanish Wells
Above average. Practice mats with floaters. 5 tee boxes - I played white.
Fast greens. Lots of penalty area, nice sand. Pace was slow. Staff extra friendly.
Weird layout....
Teeing off two par fives with a 7 iron is not my idea of a clever layout. This course is mostly blind dog legs that take the driver out of your hand. Course seemed to be squeezed in throughout the community with street crossings between holes prevalent. Course is in average shape and not worth anywhere near the $137.00 l paid to play it. Would not recommend this course to anyone who can drive the ball over 150 yards.
Nice Alternative
I play the 3 courses twice a week. The North Course has a few quirky holes, but still with challenge. The greens are in good shape, they hold the ball nicely. With the high demand for golf courses in the area this is a very nice option to consider. The price point is very good considering the outrageous other similar courses are asking.
Each of the two nine hole courses played was very different from the other. Front nine very narrow with condos lining the fairways. Back nine appeared to be in a completely different community, more wide open with single family houses. Gave the round a disjointed feel. Greens were in excellent shape and had interesting breaks but tee boxes and playing area were on the rough side.
Slow Play and No Amenities
Would have loved to have a ranger to move a lot the group in front of us who were more interested in smoking pot that playing at a decent pace. Also… no cart service and the halfway house closed on sunday afternoon. Range area is abysmal.
A Fun Course that is tight...
We played the North and then the South Nines. There are definitely some interesting holes. The dog legs are BIG TIME. I think I shoot much better if I played it again. Some sneaky water you can't see, you would know better what club to hit off the tee on some of the dog leg holes to get you in the right position. Staff was friendly and professional (although one of the bag guys was trying to give my clubs to another player...lol). Very mature course with some tight holes.
