South/East at Spanish Wells Country Club

Played for the first time at Spanish Wells. Played South and East tracks.

Greens very quick and firm. Interesting layout. Was busy and pace of play this afternoon was a challenge - especially on second nine - waiting every hole and shot - hard to get into a rhythm.

Will go back again when season is fully over and maybe not as busy.

The pin placements were too tough. We’re amateurs. Golf etiquette was in short supply on the course, ex. People talking loudly on the tee box while someone is teeing off.

You don’t need to be a long ball player to have success on this course. Plenty of challenges and great course condition. Very friendly staff and would go back anytime.

It took us 3 1/2 hours to play nine holes. We paid for 18 started at 3:45 no one’s at clubhouse to give us at least a rain check for the other nine back to back crazy no Ranger to make people move.

Worst nine we’ve ever played and we’ve been playing for 30 years

Staff is always very friendly and kind. Course in pretty good shape….not as good as some but better than most. I always enjoy playing here when I am in town.

Course winds through the development so quite a few holes are tight and water is in play on many holes.

I did not play because of the cold 45F

Made a 3 PM discounted tee time as a single and was finished with 18 holes by 5:40 PM.

The course is in good shape, and the north course is especially nice. Firm greens with a good roll. It’s a decent value relative to some other courses in the price range.

A lot of water here, short holes, and not very forgiving — so hit em straight!

Nice course layout…not terribly long…plenty of tee box options.

Course is overall a good place to play, the course could use some maintenance in spots. The staff is very nice overall a good course for the price to play.

Booked first tee time of the day as a twosome. I didn’t do my homework and noticed when we got there Spanish Wells is a 27 hole course. Thinking it was 18 holes, my 85 year dad and I could enjoy early relaxing and fairly quick round. Front was just that. As we made the turn things slowed to a halt. 3 groups were in front of us waiting. I guess it’s my fault for assuming that we would still be the first group out playing the back. Paying $119 per person if fine with me if I know what to expect. This was unexpected. I feel we didn’t get what was payed for. There are plenty of nicer courses for less. Ibis Landing, $99. The National at Ave Maria $89. And even San Carlos, $89. Any day playing with your dad is a great day…But this seemed Busch League.

Look forward to playing SW again as it presented challenges for me. The 3 nine hole courses ensure variability.

Really enjoyed the day.

Lunch at the pub was good as well.
