Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs offers tennis and bocce courts, a fitness center, and 27 of the most picturesque holes in southwest Florida. The holes are divided into three nines: the North, South, and East; that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The East/North Course combines the longest nine and the shortest nine. Towering pines and palms as well as mature oak trees cover the entire course. Almost just as abundant is the water, which makes an appearance on almost all of the club's holes. The golf course begins with one of the few holes at the club where water doesn't come into play. Although trees line both sides of the fairway on this dogleg right par 4, the landing area off the tee is generous.

Horse shoe

The North Course has numerous holes which are blind shots from the tee and the second shots. The horse shoe hole is referred to as the horse s@$t hole. Very expensive for this resort style tricked up course.

Nice People / Average Course

Spanish Wells is a Semi-private course in a gated community. They offer 27 holes of golf. The staff is friendly and helpful when they are not overwhelmed.

This course is always busy to the point that they run out of carts on a regular basis. If you play mid-day you will have to wait for a cart to be returned and cleaned before you can get your bag on a cart. Additionally they do not have a driving range.

They do no let a single ride alone they will pair you up with a stranger. Unfortunately this practice is very common in Southwest Florida during the busy season. This practice should be changed or allow walking.

Greens fees are $150 which are high for the condition of the course. Greens fees in Southwest Florida durning high season will run $125 to $200 per round.

Poor value

For the price of the greens fee, I was surprised that the carts didn’t have GPS. The score cards did not have a map of the course. Range balls cost extra. The North Course had a few odd holes, so unless you have an app, you’re essentially blind knowing where to hit the ball. The greens were fast. The staff in the pro shop, bag drop and the starters were friendly and helpful. Overall a good course and experience, just not a good value.

Illini

Price to high for this course. They raised the price for the winter season way to high. Golf Now saved me a lot of money here.

Nice outing

We play Spanish wells as one of our go to courses

The course was in nice shape and is a well thought out challenge, pace of play for how busy they were was good with no delays.

Staff are friendly and helpful, we always keep this course on our weekly play list just as all the courses in Southwest Florida it was a little pricey, but that is par for the course ( that’s a funnie! )

Typical Florida course

Very typical Florida golf course. Quite hard to remember the holes. Not spectacular but in good shape. Greens were good and speedy

Needs a little TLC

While the price of the round was inexpensive , I wouldn’t consider it money well spent . Virtually every tee box was badly beaten up and what grass that did remain was much higher than one would expect . Fairways where in reasonable condition and the new greens rolled fairly well. Course layout made you feel that every hole was visually the same and green to tee box travel was quite an adventure .

Good, fun round

Nice track. Good people at the course. Terrible range with only mats and only a few at the far end you are allowed to hit driver from. Quirky layout. Some very funky U spaced holes on the North 9. Greens were nice. Rolled at a good speed.

Nice conditions and real challenge

Better drive it straight as water on every hole. Fairways are generous and greens rolled well. Nice bar and eeck for drinks and dinner after.
