Spanish Wells Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs offers tennis and bocce courts, a fitness center, and 27 of the most picturesque holes in southwest Florida. The holes are divided into three nines: the North, South, and East; that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The East/North Course combines the longest nine and the shortest nine. Towering pines and palms as well as mature oak trees cover the entire course. Almost just as abundant is the water, which makes an appearance on almost all of the club's holes. The golf course begins with one of the few holes at the club where water doesn't come into play. Although trees line both sides of the fairway on this dogleg right par 4, the landing area off the tee is generous.

Disappointed
I played this course many times and this is the worst condition I’ve seen. The fairways were soggy, and it hadn’t rained for a week. Very hard but soggy greens, and there were all kinds of imperfections in the green. It even seemed like when the holes were cut, they were lifted up in a way that created a crown away from the hole.
I’m sure it was just an anomaly and it will be corrected soon.
When we reached the turn, we were informed that one of the nines was closed for course maintenance. This resulted in a backup and delay at the start of the back nine. I left without finishing.
Decent course. have played it 5 times and twice I have walked off because of slow play. See marshals out there but they do nothing to speed up pace of play. That just encourages people to play slow. There are a plethora of other places to play that are nicer courses, why do I want to wait all day for an average course?
Improved conditions
I have played Spanish Wells a number of times at this time if the year, However, I found the course to be in much better condition. There was no over seeding of the fairways, and the greens were running at 11. Overall the course was in top shape. Truly enjoyed my round.
Good Value
Played South/East..a little disappointed in some areas soggy and soft..a few holes cart path only..if you can grab this for $50 it's a decent value this time of the season
awful experience - very slow
Have been here numerous times. I found out that when the busy season starts, the pace becomes super slow. I played here twice for the last week. Every singe hole there are 4 carts awaiting to tee up ! I am not sure why they made the tee time so tight. When i finished the first round I complained to the staff about the pace, a yonge man showed up from the back office and started to argue with me that he thinks everything is totally fine, II can’t believe the attitude he has! It is ok i don’t have to play here, so I didn’t play the second round. They could have planned better when busy season starts.
