Golf and cart special only no carts available
We had an 11 a.m. tee time. We arrived just before 10 a.m. to check in. We were informed that they had run out of carts and he wasn't sure if there would be any back in by the 11 o'clock tee time. We paid for a bucket of balls and went to the driving range. Our name was called to return to the clubhouse. We returned and were given a cart that had to old drinks still in it and was dirty.
Greens in great shape
My first time playing the course, and I was impressed. I think that it is probably the best of the public courses in Modesto that I have played. The fairways are a bit hit or miss. There are many dry spots and hardpan, but that is to be expected during the drought. I was most impressed that they were able to maintain the quality of the greens despite everything. The layout was fairly long from the tips, but playable and not penal. Overall great deal for the price, and I'm sure that I will play again.
Very enjoyabe
Fairways are well kept. Grass on fairways still green.
Good for everyday round
I have played this course lots of times. I like it because it's fairly open and you don't have to hit good drives to still score well. The rough is thick but still allows you to hit shots from it. The back-9 is definitely easier than the front. The greens are really what will make or break your round. You have to putt well or hit your approach shots within a reasonable distance of the pin. The greens are large and roll quick, but are true. I like playing this course.
First Time Out Since Knee Replacement
My wife and I played for the first time this year with another family member. The course was challenging for me because I just received a complete knee replacement in February and it was great to get out and away from the " boob tube." My other knee was replaced last November and still has a little stiffness setting in.
Creekside
Best muni course in modesto by far. Fairways are dry as expected with the water issue. Annoying to walk on but great for extra yards on the bounce and keeping your spikes clean. This is of course as far as this week goes. However greens are being watered by hand off trucks and are in superb conditions considering the water situation!! I hope they are able to keep it up. The course is always full so the revenue shouldn't be an issue! I think It's going to be all about water quantity this year!!
slow play
On the weekends there are just too many knuckleheads out there. Took nearly 5 hours to play 18. Weekdays are better.
Greens were nice, hole placements challenging
Greens were true, pretty fast, hole placements were tough.
Bunkers were not so great.
T boxes not so great
Overpriced public course
This course should never cost more than 30$ with cart any day. The complaint is the course doesn't make money --it's overpriced for a public course.
Great course & value!
Course was in excellent shape. Greens were green and firm. Course is very forgiving.
Finally
Haven't played here in a few years. My playing partner and I used to refer to this course as Crapside. Not horrible shape just WAY too expensive considering the the other options of much better course for much cheaper. There was an idiot woman running the show. Maybe she either got fired or had a brain transplant. Finally on Golf Now after all the times I avoided this course due to no deals. Lucky for you locals. For others this was an enjoyable course with a few challenges but nothing off the charts.
fun course
I play this course at least once a week. Very good practice course to help improve game. We played behind a group of six, however they really did not slowdown our threesome much. Front nine more challenging than back for the most part.
Actually a really fun course
If u play well u score well here. Greens for what u pay for is a real bargain. Sand traps with sand a plus.
Value for the money
Go to Manteca, you can play 18 holes with a cart for $26.00 and the course is much nicer, Creekside is ok but way overpriced
Played creekside golfnow.com $12.75 walking, at counter paid $15 to ride so it came to $27.75 to ride creekside. Discounting mileage I am cheaper modesto than manteca
