No warden
It’s Saturday and you don’t have a warden, group ahead of us we’re slow, littering , and blasting music I could hear 300 yards away. Driving on the green
Poor Course Conditions
Played a round here recently and was really disappointed with the course conditions. The roughs were completely overgrown — we were losing balls even when they landed just off the fairway. Fairways themselves were patchy with large areas of dead grass, making it tough to get a clean shot. Sand traps were in terrible shape — more like hard-packed dirt than sand. Overall, it felt like the course hasn’t been maintained properly. Definitely not worth the green fees in its current condition.
Seen better days
Course condition is OK. Not great, but OK. Fairways need some work. Greens were decent. Still no club house, so get ready for a run down trailer with limited supplies and choices. I grew up on this course in the 1990s. It is way different now.
Just ok
It's in better shape than it used to be but it definitely needs more TLC. Not sure what the deal is with modesto muni courses but the bunkers are absolute trash. 99% are dirt bunkers with no sand and no matter what time of year they are constantly flooded with water in the low spots. Not sure if they realize it but most sprinklers are adjustable. You can actually control where they spray, how much they spray and for how long they spray.
Value for your money
Friendly staffs, Nice course lay out and pace of play is wonderful.
Thanks
Modesto
Group behind hitting into us before leaving green side, no one raking traps, greens marked up by divots, welcome to Modesto..Sand traps filled with water, sprinkler issues, homeless laying in bushes adjacent to river that smelled, fairways not defined by rough. Layout was decent considering real lack of topographical features, staff was decent, bungelow serves as starter and snack bar.l
Could be better
There were several greens that had patches in them. Dirt bunkers not racked. Etc. Snack bar pretty expensive $4.50 12 oz Coors light can
Dyson golf
On pace for a sub 4 hour round. Then backed up an finished at 4 hours. Greens were rolling good with a few under repair.
Horrible amenities
Average course and condition. The "clubhouse" is a construction trailer and bathrooms are porta potties that need serviced.
Staff was extremely nice and accommodating.
Slowwww and sub-standard
ZERO coarse monitoring for slow play, people driving carts next to greens, loud music, lack of common golf etiquette, etc.. For the price of a round of golf they can have a marshall on the coarse at all times.

What happened to the course?
I haven't played this course in years. This was a totally different course. It felt like I was playing in a field not a golf course. Over half the grass was dead. No refreshments because I guess the clubhouse burnt down about 5 years ago. Just because they didn't put any water on the fire, they need to put some on the grass. Nothing from what I remember. Used to be a nice place to go. Won't waste my money on that course again.
Cow Pasture
The reason this course is moderately challenging, is because the fairways, from tee box to green, are in such terrible condition.
