Manatee Golf Course

That guy Bill in the cart barn who some refer to as the starter might be the one of the most mean and nasty people I've come across in my 20 years of golfing. Apparently it's ok for him to allow a 5 some off the first tee early on a Saturday morning but don't you dare stick a tee in the sand covered driving range to hit a few drivers. I also saw him berate an entire group, demanding they rent clubs because two of them were sharing clubs. Hate to tell you but this just isn't that type of course. The conditions are also quite atrocious compared to other courses in the area. Don't waste your money. You're better off paying double at IMG or better yet try River Run for an even lower price.

Also why have tee times if the first tee box is just a free for all? We should have been 3 group off and ended up being 5.

We witnessed the staff being rude to other patrons as well. It was like they cared more about the driving range than the actual course

Tees nothing but sand. Fairways decent. Greens much better than I thought they’d be.

I always have a great time on this course. It is well-maintained, and the staff is always very friendly. For a public course, you can’t go wrong! Excellent value.

Took my kids out. Course was in good shape. Enjoyed our day.

Took a chance that I could beat incoming storms and played in 3 hours 15 minutes. Some tee boxes in rough shape. Fairways are above average and greens are excellent!

I arrived at 7:00 for my 7:50 tee time. After I asked the starter ranger very kindly how he was doing, I was told by the starter ranger that I arrived too early. I have been at this golf course many times and he is always very rude. The tee times were backed up by more than 30 minutes with no enforcement of pace of play. Starter ranger is on his phone the whole time, yelling at everyone for using a tee at the range (not allowed). Not run very well. Disappointed overall

Booked a late morning, weekend round for two. Showed up early expecting to hit some balls but were given the option to tee off early so we elected to head right out. Staff members Terri (inside) & Bill (outside/carts) were both friendly and accommodating.

As to the course itself: Greens were a bit slower than expected but rolled true. Some greens appeared to have been punched and saned within the past several weeks & thus should improve soon. Fairways did have a number of thin spots, but were all playable. Many tee boxes are in poor condition, to a point where we actually slipped several times.

Even stating the above, we still enjoyed the course and the round and look forward to making a return trip to Manatee County Golf Course in the near future.

Price was right due to off season. Course in good shape

Great price for a good course. Great for a family vacation outing.

Greens were punched recently so putting is a challenge. Fairway were in good shape. Every tee box on the course was nothing but weeds and dirt. I hope the new management company invest to bring tee boxes back as we are finally getting some much needed rain.
