About
River Run Golf Links is a municipal course owned by the city of Bradenton. Unlike many others in the area, golfers won't have to worry about hitting homes on this non-residential course. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy but it's also a fair test that is anything but boring. The two nines are referred to as the River Nine, the front, and the Pirate nine. The golf course is mostly straightforward and a pleasure to walk, although there are carts available. Ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide shade and scenery throughout the course. Water has a prominent presence, coming into play on almost every hole. Some of the holes are tight and can be quite challenging but beginners can still approach River Run Golf Links with confidence.

Golfer Reviews
Played late morning weekday round as a foursome in less than four hours. Course was almost empty as it had rained over several days in advance and everything was very wet. (We also experienced a few short showers during our round.) Bunkers were waterlogged so had to move ball, plus we had to move ball in several fairways due to standing water. Thus, review of course conditions not helpful to those reading this. However, it should be pointed out that staff working the day we played was the most friendly and accommodating we’ve experienced in a long time. We were promptly greeted and welcomed by Lynn (carts), the inside staff (Kevin, register & Bob, counter) truly appreciated our coming to River Run, and starter (Phil) got us off and checked on everyone throughout the round. Would recommend this course and will return soon.
Good round of golf
Booked a last minute round when i saw a window with the rain. $28 for 1:15 tee time. The bag guy was super friendly. Set me op on a cart. Checked in to find another super friendly fella at the register. Started out as a single for a few holes. Caught up to another single so we paired up since there was a foursome in front of us. Played in about 3 hrs 30 min. Course was in pretty good shape though some greens showed signs of the struggle with the bad drought we went thru. Some bare spots. The fairways were a little thick but with all the recent rain I’m sure they couldn’t mow. For the price i would say this is the best value in the area.
Just not the same
Some things don't get better with age and this is one of those places.
Enjoyed this course
Fun course fairways good shape. Some of the greens have been currently worked on, A few and around the first cut perimeter are in rough shape, they are starting to heal. For the value, I would recommend this course not extremely long, but very enjoyable.. A+
Fun Course To Play, Excellent Staff, Decent Conditions
Played a late morning, mid-week, mid-summer round on a very hot day. Thus, course was not crowded. Were greeted warmly upon arrival by Paul (carts) and treated very well by all the inside staff. Finished in less than four hours. Conditions were fine, especially as this area has suffered through a prolonged drought. Although greens showed some residual marks from recently being punched, they rolled true. Would recommend this course and look forward to returning in the near future.
Good value for conditions
Greens were dry and spotty, also they were just aerated. They are also doing restructuring of their cart paths and some fairways were dry and sandy. Pace of play was a little slower than expected, considering that there was minimal players on the course. Will be back and I’d recommend this course because of the design and value. Was challenging but worth the price!
Marshall needs to be on the Golf Course not cleaning clubs for tips.
The layout is fun to play and challenging. The greens are in rough shape and SLOW!! The course tried their best to put the pins in places less affected by the disease on the greens. The Marshall was cleaning clubs for tips instead of monitoring the pace of play on the golf course which was an issue as well.
Awesome course layout and friendly staff and good people to play with. Course could use a little work but worth the price to play the fun and challenging course.
Very nice course and a great value
Course is in good shape. The staff is excellent. Putting surfaces are in very good shape. You will enjoy your round if you play on this track.
