Majestic Oaks at Lake Lawn Resort
About
Lake Lawn Resort spans across two miles of shoreline along Delavan Lake. The resort was founded in 1878, making it one of Wisconsin's oldest leisure destinations. Its proximity to both Chicago and Milwaukee has made it very popular. The championship golf course was not added until 1921, but it is still one of the area's oldest. It has a traditional layout that was revamped in 1990 but the original character was carefully preserved. The course is known for the stately oaks that are abundant throughout the course. The mature trees frame the holes and demand accuracy as well as creative shot-making. There are also deep sand bunkers strategically placed along Lake Lawn Resort's greensides. The greens themselves are quite tricky and varied too. Some have subtle but tough undulations while others are multi-tiered.

Nice course
We stayed at the hotel, so we played the course. There are better courses in the area, but the convenience and value were worth it.
Lake Lawn
May 6th was a sunny but very windy day. The wind coming off of the lake was quite strong on holes 12 and 13. Had it not been for the wind the conditions would have ben quite good. A lot of courses in the Midwest appear to be two weeks or so behind normal due to the winter we had. The staff was very courteous. The course management has reversed play of the front nine and the back nine so my GPS was out of sync. They have not marked directions to each hole since the change so it was a bit of driving around to fine the correct hole to play until I got to a hole sequence that I knew.
Good deal
Some great views! Greens were rolling well for this time of year.
A wet day early in the year.
I played early in the season on the Monday after Easter. The weather was threatening rain. In fact it did rain (sprinkle) for most of the round. There were very few people playing and we played fairly well so we were able to move right along. Hence the short time for the round.
Good golf course and friendly service!
It was fall weather when I played Lake Lawn and I can honestly say I was content with the course`s maintenance. I`d like to play it again.
Great course nice layout with some really nice scenery !
Completely enjoyed my experience @ Lake Lawn Resort , staff, course & facility were all top shelf ! I play a lot of area courses ,
this is one I will play again. There are a lot of good courses in the area . this is one of the better ones ; although I would avoid
Fox Lake CC , because of managements poor treatment of anyone that isn't a member.

Nice Course - Excellent Value
The course was in great shape for this time of year. The staff was friendly and for $15 for 18 with a cart - it was a great deal! I would look to play here again when visiting the Lake Geneva area.
Great condition and beautiful view along the lake
Haven't played the course in several years. We had a noon T-time and when we arrived at 11:15 it was pouring down rain. When it stopped we questioned how the course would play. However, the course soaked up the rain and there wasn't even water in the sand traps. Greens and fairway were in great shape. The leaves were turning colors and with the lake, it was a beautiful day.
good value
A good round. Not super busy so was able to get around in about 3 1/2 hours.
10 years later and they've only change the hole #s
You guessed it....#10 is now #1 and I was lost the entire time. I liked the change as I understand they can get more people to stop at the clubhouse by having it end in the front of the clubhouse and not the parking lot. They totally renovated the clubhouse and it really works for the space. Now for the good, the bad and the ugly. The greens had areas that needed work and some of the greens are just unfair with the pitch and mounds. Hole #13 has a 3ft mound that had to put over... I should have used a wedge to get closer to the pin....all it needs is a "windmill". The course is in need of change as it gets boring without doglegs. Number #12 is worth playing the course as it's a challenging dogleg around the water. The sand traps might be the best in the state and there are plenty of them. It's worth a once a summer play until they change a few of the holes up.
Nugent gem for the $$$
Wasn't expecting much for $13 including a buggy. I was pleasantly surprised with the course (and conditioning) having not played at LLR in ten years. Fun course that will test your ability!
Great value and very good playing condition.
I always enjoy playing Lake Lawn. The views are great and the course is great.
Excellent course for the money
I was very impressed with the staff and course. The starter really made us feel welcome. The course was extremely busy but we teed off right on time. The course was in great shape. The only complaint I would have is there should be signs directing you to the next tee as it was confusing on a few holes. I was disappointed that they didn't have GPS on the carts as their website indicated. I would have brought my own if I had known. They need to update their website.
Great little old course!
Short, but tough greens, greens were in fantastic shape, nice views of large oaks and lake Delevan. Fun course and a good value.
Fabulous setting and well maintained.
Play moved extremely well considering a Sunday morning on a lovely day. We loved the course and play to go back even though we have a membership at a course much closer to our home.
Tightly packed course that took too long to play.
This is a decently maintained course that is relatively short and packed into a small area. The greens are the most challenging aspect, as they are relatively quick and multi-tiered. Too many players were packed on to the course on a Saturday afternoon and the round took longer than it should have. Staff were not very helpful in getting us on to the course and taking care of basic needs, such as providing the cart.
Greens are nice.
Tree lined on most holes. Major detraction is holes are close together resulting in ball traffic from other holes. Fairways, tee boxes and greens are fine. Yardage markers on par 3's are available but you only get the 100, 150, and 200 markers on most holes.
The course was crowded but fun
The staff at the course were very friendly and helpful. They were having a shotgun start on the course just before our tee off time but we were able to keep moving, only waiting at the par 3's. The layout of course is rather congested (greens too close to tee offs). At times you looked out at an area and saw like 8 carts all in the same area. There were a lot of "fours" being yelled out (not by us of course) with one ball just missing our cart. The lake views on some of the holes were beautiful as a few of holes wander along the shore line of Delavan Lake. The fairways and greens were in great shape, being very consistent with the practice greens. With the hot deal we got, it was well worth the drive and the money.
Lakelawn
Fairways on the back nine were in horrible shape and the greens were full of mud and divits !!! Fairways are very tight and balls from other holes are flying all over the place .!! The overall condition of the course is unpleasent and I would not recommend to my friends.
Nice course, still needs a little attention
The staff was quite friendly when we arrived. We played midweek, mid afternoon and the course was quite busy. We arrived at the first tee at our scheduled tee time but had to wait to tee off. The pace of play was fairly slow. The tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. The greens could use a little attention. After 3 1/2 hours we had only played 13 holes and had to leave, which was disappointing. I will probably play this course again and allow myself more time.
Sounds like a hacker that had a bad round. Great course. Holes on every golf course are set up right next to each other, hence the chance of having a ball enter your fairway. Deal with it.
